GOOD MORNING! I'm so glad its Thursday! And I'm hoping the rain is gone far far away now.

I'm trying to shop thrift even more this month so I have enough $ for the cruise and I got to thinking about products I'm willing to go generic/store brand on and items I'm not. So, what's your threshold-what do you have to have name brand of and what do you buy that is the cheaper brand???

Good Morning Train!

WOOOHOOO for Thursdays! From the feel of my aching thighs, I guess I need to repeat the leg work I did in the gym yesterday a little more often, LOL.  I guess riding the recumbent bike just doesn't work the inner thighs like leg presses do.  As for the thrift shopping, the only thing I can think of that I won't buy generic is Velveeta, and I buy that like once or twice a year, oh and maybe protein powder, LOL.

Prayers are going out for all that need them!

Next up on the turntable is "Message in a Bottle" from The Police, so everyone get up and move!

Just a castaway
An island lost at sea
Another lonely day
With no one here but me
More loneliness
Than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle
[Message in a bottle]

A year has passed since I wrote my note
But I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Love can mend your life
But love can break your heart

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle
[Message in a bottle
Oh, message in a bottle
Message in a bottle]

Walked out this morning
Don't believe what I saw
A hundred billion bottles
Washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone at being alone
A hundred billion casatways
Looking for a home

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle
[Message in a bottle
Message in a bottle
Message in a bottle]

Sending out an SOS...

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Paper towels - got to have Viva.
Toilet paper - I'm not opposed to generic, just have never found a good one.

 Good morning.

Last night was interesting.  Clint and I drove back in to Dallas to meet Michelle.  She's a regular poster on the RNY board and she was in town on business.  The interesting part came when our timing of driving back into Dallas had us literally driving under both tornadoes that touched down in Dallas.  EXCITING!  It really wasn't as 'drama filled' as it could have been.  But we got to the hotel safe and sound, spent several hours just chatting about all kinds of stuff and then headed home.  It was really nice to get out and be social.

Today I'm headed to my chiropractor for an adjustment (I'll wave as I come up to Keller) and tomorrow I have my second post op appointment with Dr. Hamn.  I should be getting the last of my staples out (thank goodness).

More rest and naps for me today.

Edited to add:  Forgot the thrift question.
I will buy off or store brands of pretty much anything except:
Dish detergent--has to be Dawn
Peanut Butter--has to be Jif
Toilet Paper--has to be Charmin

Prayers to all.

Dr. Dennis James.  His office is on 1709 just inside the Keller boarder from Southlake.

The man is a MIRACLE worker.  Definitely worth the drive from south Arlington to go see him.

Will "low ball" on shampoo, plastic garbage bags and pre packaged lunch meat.

It ain't gonna happen on my "hiney shine" (toilet paper) or laundry soap.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Good Morning Alissa & TMB!

I have to have viva paper towels, hidden valley ranch dressing, kraft american cheese slices are just a few items that come to mind.  I ususally will buy the generic brand aleve, sliced bread, and some cleaning products.

Hey You Guys!
Nothing new to report in my world, just lots of the same. School is back in full swing now. It's amazing how much I missed my kiddos. I have Day Care Duty this year with the pre-k and K kids. Yesterday one of my little charges decided to have a melt down and not get in my line. I was about half way down the hall when a K teacher stopped me to tell me that he was still in her room. Our group had to go back and get him. I reminded him that it is ok to get upset but not ok to stay in your teacher's room because that will get you left at school. Needless to say his meltdown stopped and he joined the group promptly.

I guess about the only thing I can think of that I won't buy generic is bread. It's either Mrs. Baird's or the little girl in the yellow wrapper one (sunbeam?). There have been times that I've bought generic and decided that I like the name brand better and switched back- but for the life of me I can't think of anything other than bread right now.

21 weeks yesterday- over half way there. I am trying to cherish every minute. Last night we were all in the living room watching TV and I could feel him kick so I got my big comfy preggo pillow, laid down over it and put Dirk's hand over my belly. At one time the baby did a somersault so Dirk actually got to feel him move too. It's pretty cool.

Prayers for Meggie- girl this has GOT to stop. They need to get you better pronto!
Prayers for Jenn.
Prayers for Kellie as they make desicions and get their life back in order. I can't imagine.

Love you guys!

Alissa....I do store brands on just about everything except Macaroni and cheese....my family insists on Kraft.   Since I don't eat it I buy what they like.   I use to buy Hi Top ( which was Sack n Save's brand till they closed and that was pre op for me. ) other than that most everything I buy is generic.   In case you don't know....most store brands are made by a major brand anyway.    They just put the store labels on them.   Mrs. Bairds makes Kroger brand bread....you can see it at the bread store.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
