I love passing out candy to the kids. I've organized a neighborhood street party thing where different houses have booths and games. I hope we can do it again this year. We have a TON of kids in our neighborhood. Also, I like to give out non-candy items like pencils if I can find a good deal on them from Oriental or something like that.

How are you feeling?

Spent most of the day sleeping.  I think my body wants more rest to heal and I've been pushing too much.

Slow but sure tho.  I'm going to rest allll day tomorrow.

Good Morning All,

Tomorrow is my 3 week post-surgery thingy(can't think of the word). I have conquered my swelling problem so far.  I have gone from 295 to 283.4 in just about 2 weeks!!  WooHoo!!      However, I have started introducing solid food and had my very first and hopefully last bout with "DUMPING".   I have never felt sooooo bad and all I ate was 1/2 cup of canned tuna with 2 tlbs of Kraft light mayo.  When it passed I thought I was better and had some baked chicken, then it happened again!  Well, I figured I probably ate too much and should have opted for the protien shake.  Live and learn, right?!
I bow to the power of the Belly!!

I hope everyone has a great short week!

We are not big on Halloween any more.  My kids say they are too big for that but sure do pillage through their younger cousins booty of candy when ever they get the chance.  I love halloween and love to dress up, but haven't done it a few years.  Who knows maybe this year we will all dress up and have fun scaring the neighborhood kids.

Hugs and prayers to all who need them!!

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. Thoreau

You need to introduce solid foods slowly as everyones pouch heals differently. There will be foods you may not be able to tolerate. Generally after week three the progression is to semi liquids/puree foods, It took me a long time to be able to eat solid food and and still have times I can not eat much of certain foods especially chicken for some strange reason. Again, take it slowly with introducing new foods to your pouch. I know it is hard but nothing is worst than throwing everything back up you ate or the dreaded duping syndrome.

As Halloween, I put up very little decorations up in the yard usually around the end of Sept. It is at this time I start looking into getting costumes for the children. This year is going to be tough finding a custome for my 10 year old but I have some leads on that issue and hope to have costumes purchased by the end of Sept.

It has been a typical busy week for me with my school work and work. I did not have yesterday off but was only in the office for half the day and the rest of it was spent yard work and school work.

Hope everyone had a safe Labor Day weekend and be careful with all the rain coming our way the next few days.

I have been around been extremely busy with school work for my MBA program and I have been busy at work. Currently, I am planning to return to the Dallas area for a week in October to do some training at our Dallas offices. It has been nearly three years since I lived in the DFW area(Hurst to be exact). I have friends up at our Dallas offices I have not seen in a while or talked to much. They would be surprised to see me now after WLS.

I have been periodically checking things out on the board and noticing that a lot has been going on in everyones life.  The sad thing is the holidays are coming up fast and we will all be extremely busy. I am planning to try to be more active but that may change as soccer will be starting up with my children and my oldest daughter starts her gymnastic classes on Wednesday. I am still doing good with my weightloss still losing on average 5 lbs per month and about 30 lbs from my ultimate goal. I am trying to make time to start training for a 5 k run I would like to do this fall.  I also have been busy with trying out some new recipes from the Skinny Chef's cookbook and the one's I have tried have been great Chineese dishes. Just last Thursday, I got a copy of Chef Fouts "walking for obesity" cookbook that I had ordered, which I have skimmed through and saw several great easy recipes. I have also been busy with Nina on our local support group.  Again i will try to be a little more active on the board and may even try posting a new avatar when I have time to edit the picture I have myself I made a few weeks ago. Everyone take care,

Good job on the weight loss. I know its exciting to be able to eat food again, but if you do dump, its probably best to do liquids the rest of the day. I dumped on crazy things at first-no rhyme or reason. Good luc****ep up the good work!

I like Halloween, but I'm not a big decorator.  Christmas is my favorite holiday, but Halloween is my BF's favorite.  I kind of want to find a Halloween party this year.  I found a great costume in a catalogue, but I've never really dressed up.

Well, so much for all of the overtime I had planned this week.  I went into work yesterday.  My left eye was a little itchy and gunky, so I thought it was allergies acting up.  Then a coworker asked me if I had pink eye.  It got worse as the day went on, and I had to admit I probably did.  My boss happened to be there yesterday.  He told me I can't go back to wor****il I get the all clear from a doctor.

As a general rule, if you work overtime on a Saturday and then take off the following Monday (I worked OT on Monday, so the same rule would apply to not working today) and the leave wasn't already scheduled, then you can't work overtime for two weeks.  They apparently had some people who would work OT on Saturday then call in on Monday so they still got a two day weekend.  My boss said he would check and see if they would waive that for me since I obviously had a very pink eye and he told me I couldn't come in even though I am willing to work with it.  Still, it means I can't work OT today, and probably not the rest of the hours this week I signed up for.  And I'm eating into my already low sick leave hours.

Otherwise, I'm good. I've been keeping busy with all of the OT.  The BF and I spent Saturday evening in Dallas with my family.  We drove back Sunday morning because he had to work.  Mondays and Tuesdays are his days off, but we can't see each other because of my eye.  This whole being contageous thing sucks!

I hope everyone else is doing great.  Enjoy your short work week!
