to say hello!

I am excited to be going to the Houston OH conference. It is my first time to attend any OH event. Who all is going? I know we will have some terrific speakers, but what else goes on at these things?

 Congratulations for having the courage to post.   I am going to the OH Conference in Houston and I can't wait !!!!   They are a blast.   Meet and Greet is friday night and then the conference is sat. all day long with break out sessions ( you chose which one you attend ).   Then the saturday night style show, dance and casino night.     Lots and lots of fun not mentioning getting to see people that you talk to on the OH Message boards that you get to meet face to face.    You will have the time of your life.   I look forward to seeing you there.

Don't forget to bring an extra bag for all of the free samples and the new clothes from the clothing exchange!

That will be great! Didn't realize they gave free stuff away, either. I'll have to find a really big one, then!

Shelly,you don't need a bag for free samples but you might need one for the clothing exchange.  It depends on your current size.  There are always tons of larger sizes, free for the taking but very little in 12 and under.  There are vendor booths some of which offer free samples but most are just a nibble/taste of something.  Other booths are there to sell things that might be of interest to the WLS cummunity-for instance I will have a jewelry booth for my WLS success lockets. (I won't be giving out free samples however, lol).

First timers get out of the conference what they put into it.  In other words, don't be shy.  So many of us know each other and use these conferences to play "catch-up" but that is sometimes mistaken as being unfriendly to the newbies.  That is NOT our intent at all.  Please feel free to walk up to anyone whose avatar you recognise and strike up a conversation-we'd love to meet you.

Thanks so much, Stephanie! It really helps me to understand how things work at these things. I will look for your booth, definitely! I will be out of my comfort zone, for sure, but I want to make the most out of it while I'm there.
