Good morning everyone!  I hope you all had a good week.  I bounced down to the 146's and then back up, but a tad lower than last week so I am ok with it.  Fighting a bad cold/sinus crud - can't breathe and my head feels like it is in a vise.  I have my 2-year follow-up this afternoon with my PCP and will get my results on my blood work.

How did everyone else do?

Good Morning Sarah !

I think there is something wrong with the gravity at my house.....

On Saturday I weighed 162, on Sunday 164. then today it read 166......i REFUSE to accept this....my scale has button cell batteries and it will be getting some new ones today...

Can it be real that I gained 4 lbs over the weekend?
The only thing I did any different, but not outside the norm was I had fruit this weekend...grapes, strawberries and watermelon once.....and not that much of any of it...

I have continued to work out, drink my muscle milk and take my vits.....I prolly could go a little heavier on the water/fluids side but all in all im doing what im supposed to .....

This gain has me sidelined....hmmmm

It can't be real unless you at an additional 14,000 calories in the last 2 days...and I'm going to guess thta you did not!  I'm pretty sure you couldn't ingest that many strawberries, grapes and watermelon.

It always helps me to remember that "real" pounds are 3,500 calories a piece so you have to rationally think about it.  I'm sure it's jus****er weight, or old batteries!!!

I agree with deltapearl - no way you gained 4 pounds over the weekend.

It is either your scale or fluid retention.  Or you burned up your glycogen stores from all the exercise and when you replace it your body stores 4 pounds of water for every pound of glycogen (which is a form of fluid retention).

So, bottom line - you are doing great so don't get discouraged!

change the batteries, watch the salt and do you keep the scale in the same place? Make sure where you weigh is level! Could be a fluke or maybe that time of the month but keep an eye on it! Are you exercising more could be muscle weight vs fat!! Let us know what you figure out!

Since my surgery it has become the norm for me to fluctuate like crazy for no discernible reason.  I can be up 4 or down 4 pounds within 24 hours.  As long as I'm within my standard 5-pound range, I've learned not to worry about it.

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

What you are going through is very common after plastic surgery.    You won't see your "true" weight for months.

Still trucking along over here!  I was excited today to see that my BMI his 35.9.  One of my goals I was shooting for was to get under 35 since that's the amount you must be to qualify for surgery...so almost there, only 5.8 pounds to get to that mini-goal!  And ony 3.2 pounds from hitting 100 since my highest.

Thanks, me too.

You are losing at a nice steady pace!  A lot healthier for your body even though we all want it gone as fast as possible LOL.

I remember when I slipped under a BMI of 35 and realized I no longer qualified for WLS - it felt really good.  Not as good as ONEderland but pretty good.  I am short, so I had to get to 191 for my BMI to be below 35 so I had already done my major happy-dance for ONEderland

Yours will be here before you know it.  You are also sneaking up on 100 pounds lost from your highest weight!
