I finally dumped

Unfortunately, five and a half years after RNY, I had never dumped. Which is probably why I have gained back (mumblemumble) pounds. Well, that came to a screeching halt last night . . .

I was at a convention, and we always have a Saturday night banquet. The dessert was key lime pie, which I adore. I intended to only take a taste, but of course, I ended up eating half of it. In about 10 minutes I started getting sleepy, and sweating, and my stomach felt like it was quivering. I made it through the end of the awards ceremony, and ran back to my room, where I litereally passed out for about 45 minutes. I woke up with terrible cramps, and ran to the bathroom where I had a serious case of the runs. After that was over I went back to bed and slept all night.

The upside is that today even the thought of sugar makes me want to barf!

Sometimes it is these types of times that makes us a stronger & better person in our eating habits.  Sometimes when I am at work after lunch Ithink I 'feel' my nerves just jumping all about.  I think it is coming from the 'hidden' sugars.

By the way, this maintenance thing is for the birds...cuz I have also had some regain too.  I want to be back in the 'honeymoon' period.

 Norma....I experience the same thing.   At we won't talk about re-gain.    I am working very hard (especially since my surgery last monday) to refocus and get some of this re-gain off.   My pouch is very cranky since the surgery last week.    SO I am treating it like it is royalty and being very careful.   Great for me cause I am now starting to lose some of the re-gain.    Good luck to you too.   It is SO HARD to get the weight to move.

 Congrats to DUMPLAND !!!  LOL   I dump quite often when I eat something I shouldn't ( I dump on fat and sugar ).   Sometimes I can get away with eating things then something BAM !!!  I am in full blown dumpland.    Now at almost 5 yrs post op I don't dump like I did in the beginning....but still it is NOT pleasant !!!!   At least Lynn you know your tool works !!!   Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been.   Next time it could be worse though.

 welcome to the club!! sugar doesn't usually bother me but dry things like rice and chicken, can't even think of eating steak without gravy or something, but you know? I don't miss most of it, my tool works and the early dumping on almost everything quickly taught me that I can live without that turtle cheese cake! But after months in Singapore, It's real hard to drive past a Dairy Queen or Sonic without an ice cream cone. Of course, driving puts me in Nirvana after months on foot, so my decision making ability is seriously impaired for a few weeks. Watch out Sugar Land/Richmond!!

yep -  thats mee !!    everyday !!    CARBS does it to me............really seriously !!   

THAT TOOL DOES WORK AS LONG AS  WE LISTEN TO IT !!    EVEN AT 3 YRS OUT.......



LETS GET REFOCUSED............TIME TO DO IT NOW !!

  • As of 11-10-13 I have had weight gain.  Not happy about that.
