Ive missed posting on here, some creeepy dude bothers me when I come here, but I think Ive taken care of that situation....I hope so anyway...

With all this free time I have on my hands now, Ive dedicated a little to "ME"

Ive read everywhere on OH to up your protein, Until just very recently I couldn't stomach protein shakes....I took a trip to GNC and got some protein bars, non "hydro" kind. I can still only do about half at a time....I found some 17 oz RTD muscle milk on sale for $1.49 so I bought the store out, I think I got over 20 of them....Some days when I drink them I hafta stay really close to the bathroom, other days it doesn't bother me at all. So I prolly have upped my protein by about 50 G a day with supplements.

I have also started exercising, I think that Ive just about gotten a routine put together. The army base that my husband works at has a gym with procor and nautilus equipment in it....and its free to employees and their families....

Since getting put out of work I had not lost a lb. or so it seemed, in the 2 weeks that Ive been taking care of  "me"  i have lost 6 lbs.....

I was so afraid that I was done loosing...I love my RNY

Im still waiting on the Dr.s ofc to call me with a time and date for the hernia repair..

Thanks to all the smart and wonderful people that come here and share their lives for us to learn from...

Tara.....we have been missing you.   SO sorry some creepy guy has been bugging you.   Call OH and report him if it keeps happening.    No one should be harassed !!!   I am glad that you are doing better.    You did say you have to stay close to the bathroom sometimes when you drink Muscle Milk?   I vomit when I drink that stuff.....it no sooner hits my pouch that it comes right up.    I was told it was probably all the vitamins added in it.   That could be your case too if that is what you are running to the bathroom for.   LOL   Hope you keep getting better and better.   I had a intestinal hernia repaired on Monday night.   It was a piece of cake !!!  No pain after at all.   No pain meds...not even a Tylenol.   Hope you have the same results.   Take care and don't over do it.     We have missed you...welcome back !!!!

Thank you for the compliment Tara.    Hope you have a easy time with yours also.   I had no idea I had one.   It was undetected by  hiding behind the muscles in my intestines.   LOL    I went to the ER thinking I was having a appendix attack.   LOL   I was sure shocked with the results of the CT Scan. Glad it is over.  Nothing runs right through me.   I couldn't be so lucky.   LOL

What may be the problem is the sugar content of muscle milk. There is two other versions that may work better for your muscle milk light and muscle milk sugar free. Also, if there is a Academy near you they sell muscle milk light in the store for $1.49 regular price in chocolate and vanilla only. As for the protein bars there are several on the market that are low in carbs. The ones I buy are Think Thin protein bars which can be purchased at Whole Foods and HEB. I also add whey protein isolate to my homemade ice coffee and I buy Nectar cappuccino flavor protein shake powder. I also get a major portion of my protein from my diet by eating low fat cheese, low fat yogurt, and skim milk.  It is good you are taking care of yourself. I am sorry that somebody scared you off. There is no place on this forum for weird individuals with more than a few screws loose. I have seen that guy post something before and just ignored him because if he truly wanted to help people he would just post it on the forum. The sad fact there are some strange individuals on the internet. Continue to take care of yourself and be active on TMB and if anybody weird bugs you on the message board report them. Back to the protein you are just going to need to find just the right one for your particular taste as you have heard mentioned on the board our taste buds change. It is that reason I like to make my on ice coffee because I can make the same recipe over and over or I can adjust it slightly for my taste. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks, that's a lot of info....We have an Academy being built...we are all excited...lol

I'm gonna order some CLICK from GNC in the first 7 days of this new month, I use my gold card for a discount....

You ain't joking bout the taste buds changing....now if i could hone in on the taste bud for salty chips and dis-engage it, id be alright...lol

We dont have a whole foods or an HEB, my son in San Antonio does and he tells me about all the neat things i cant buy here....hahaha

I thought that I was getting enough protein in , but I seemed to be at a slow down not quite a stall, so I upped my protein and exercise ....Im really glad Im not done loosing...

One way to make sure you are getting enough protein is by logging what you eat. BY logging you not only track caloric intake but protein intake as well. My nutritionist and I go over my average caloric intake, protein intake, fat intake, and sugar intake. We also discuss my my average daily meals and adjust things from there. The magic number for protein should be between 60-80 grams but my nutritionist would like me to have even more. My average intake is usually between 80 - 120 grams. I am still losing weight myself and have way to many people tracking and watching my weight loss from my psychiatrist to my nutritionist. The major concern is that I do not over shoot my goal weight and that I do not lose too much at a time. I currently average 1 LB per week but that is going to change as I am slowly ramping up my exercising and other physical activities, which is hard to do in the Texas heat.
