OT....Can any of you nurses recommend a hospital?

I have a good friend who's a nurse and she's looking for a job. She's been working in day surgery for the last few years but has ER and ICU experience. She recently finished chemo for a return of cancer but has been cleared to go back to work. She worked for Baptist Hosp. in Beaumont but they wouldn't hold her job so she's thinking about coming to the Houston area. She wants to stay within driving distance of Beaumont because of her family/grandkids. I can only recommend the hospitals I've been in as a patient but she'd like to hear from nurses who actually work in the hospitals. So even if you don't know of any job openeings, could you give me an idea of good hospitals to work for that she can check out?

Thanks
Dee

hey chickie
i would advise against a certain large hospital in beaumont located on Calder ave. She will know what im talking about.
Has she checked Renassaince in mid county? ALso i have a good friend that works for St. Mary's in Port Arthur and swears she will retire there and she and i used to work together at UTMB
So you may have her check into St. Marys... much closer drive than houston.
