Wacky Woo hoo Wednesday WLS Express
Hope everyone has a great day today!
Good morning ALISSA and all! ALISSA-good luck tomorrow-will you have to back into the rolling knee walker thing?
Special prayers for our Cajun girl, DANA, as she faces gall bladder surgery today, and for VIVIAN, as she recovers from her hernia surgery.
My WOOHOO for the week happened yesterday, during my physical therapy evaluation. Part of the eval was to lie on my back and have the therapist check the alugnment of my pelvic bones-and she could FEEL them-BOTH of them. She had to shove skin out of the way a few tines, but, by golly those bones were THERE. She said there was no way she would have been able to do the eval effectively the way I was pre-op, etc. The "downside" is I'm "out of whack"-possibly from al the exercise I've been trying to do, and that what is causing the sciatia tye nerve pain. Figures..you TRY to do good...sigh..
Hope everyone has a day FULL of WOOHOOs!!
I LOVE Y'ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!

We Can Do Hard Things
I won't have to use the knee walker. I will be able to walk out of the surgery center in my boot the doc says and I can return to work Monday.
I didn't know Dana was having surgery today- adding her to prayer list.
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Things are busy around here. Adam is coming home, so you can imagine the moving and shoving going on. Jeff is here and now I have a need for 3 bedrooms. So much for the middle one being inventory storage for Tom and the front one my gym. We will work it all out but I see a storage unit in my future.
Bessie Clampett is doing great. Went out yesterday and thought she had a leak, but Tom checked it out and she is fine. She does like to run, the faster the better, so you kinda have to talk her into the speed limit. She is a great old lady.
My prayers are all said, I will never stop making sure my chosen family is included.
Yall have a great one!

My WOO HOO for today is I have not had to take anything for pain at all. I thought that when I woke up today the soreness would be worse....but it isn't. I feel so blessed to have such a caring bariatric surgeon who would stay real late after starting surgery at 6:30 AM to do one on me at 10 PM. When I arrived at the hospital he had just finished a surgery. Talk about dedication....he is the BEST !!!!! Love Dr. KIm and his staff !!!! That is my WOO HOO......NO pain and the BEST Doc that there is IMHO !!!!

Hope you are feeeling better Vivian. I have come to realize that more and more surgeons and doctors who are truly caring and dedicated to their profession will go out of their way for a patient. Please forgive me I fixing to tell a little sad story.
The day we lost our 5 month old preemie son to acute respiratory distress syndrome, which was a Saturday. Right before the Pediatric Intensive care doctor disconnected life support. Our families pediatrician walked in to be with us. He had only gotten to see our youngest at the time 3 times. My entire family was a little shocked because we had forgotten to give him a update that things had continued to get worse and that our son was going to die soon. This doctor could have spent his Saturday with his family but he instead chose to be with mine at a time we needed him the most for morale and emotional support. He stuck by me and wife's side all the way to the end and he even went out to the waiting room to let the rest of the family know when our son passed away. I have met very few doctors that would do so much for his or her patients. This pediatrician to tell you how dedicated he is to his patients when he is on-call on the weekends opens his office on weekends to see patients. Again, I apologize for a sad story I always get choked up talking about it. But I believe it needed to be said that when you meet a doctor or surgeon that is dedicated to the care of his or her patients you should hold onto them and share them with your friends and family. I know when I had some trouble shortly after my surgery my surgeon always managed to find time to squeeze me in and take care of me. So I would like to dedicate my wohoo to all the doctors, nurses, and surgeons who go above and beyond for the care of their patients because we need to let them know how much we appreciate what they do for us.
For everyone that is recovering from surgery I hope you are feeling better and have a speedy recovery.
