Let's Play, "Let's Find the Missing Organ"!!!
So I learned a new game yesterday.... It was kinda like where's waldo...and this "game" was longer than a game of monopoly. LOL. Sorry, I jest only because I'm trying to make light of my situation.
So for those of you who haven't heard my story, I started off with abdominal pain on Thursday, July 8th... It was a constant pain, and very similar to the pain I had in May when I had my blockage and internal hernia. I finally saw the nurse practitioner at my WLS's office on the following Wednesday (the 14th). They sent me down for a ct, which came back clear for hernias. The following Monday, the 19th, my wls took me in for exploratory surgery to find the source of the pain. He found nothing that could explain the pain and told me to go ahead with my visit to the GI doctor, and the HIDA scan for my gallbladder, which was supposed to be done BEFORE this surgery, except the hospital lost the orders.
Well the GI doctor I think was a total nutjob and put me on miralax and told me everything I was feeling was just constipation... Which I knew was not true. He also told me to take laxatives on a daily basis from this point on so that I would be regular... WTH???? Okay...sorry. I won't go into details with this, but I did take the miralax for a few days and that messed me up further.
Fast forward to yesterday... I went in for a 2nd attempt to do the HIDA scan. After an hour on the table, the tech told me that they had still not been able to catch a glimpse of my gallbladder! It should have shown up pretty much immediately with the contrast that was put into my iv...
They had me come back 4 hours later, and finally they were able to catch a glimpse. Obviously, if it took 5 total hours for the contrast to make it to my gallbladder, there are issues...
So I just spoke with my WLS office, and it looks like Viv and I will be neighbors! (Hopefully Viv will be home by then...) I'm having my gallbladder out tomorrow at Forest Park...
I just think it's comical at this point. Had the hospital not lost my orders LAST Saturday, Dr. Nick would've been able to remove my gallbladder during the exploratory last Monday. But hey, I think I'm trying to set the record for the most surgeries in a year. LOL.
sorry this was long winded guys. I guess I type like I talk!

**Hugs*** yikes, but at least you can laugh at it, even if it is really not funny for losing your gallbladder.
A few years ago I was admitted to the hospital, severe stomach pain, fever, dehydrated. Took them a week, a scope, two upper gi's with lower bowel scans, me crying in the X-Ray department on my Birthday, and a psycho roomie, for something a simple blood test would have told them.
I had an acute attack of pancreatitis. Still to this day not sure how in the hell it happened as well, all indicators were normal, gallbladder was fine, triglycerides normal. They told me they figured it out, when they were discharging me. I had two docs fighting over me, one wanted to open me up and explore, and the other was like let us run more test. That is also how I found out I was starting to have issues with my first WLS.
