My family keeps asking me about the Forest Park Medical Center and about Dr. Nick Nicholson.  Just wanted to check and see if anyone would care to share their experiences.

Just two days to go!

Thanks,
Teresa

I didn't use Dr. Nicholson nor Forest Park but I do know that I have heard that they both are excellent.   You might want to post this tomorrow.....not many are on the message board on the weekends.     Good luck to you.

I used Dr. Nicholson at Baylor Plano, he was great!  I have had zero complications.  I liked him because he spent a good deal of time with me prior to surgery answering all of my questions and it was important to me that my surgeon was available to see my family and answer the questions they had post surgery.  His PA Britney is the person who does the aftercare and she is FABULOUS.  I had a million questions week 1-2 and they were so responsive to me. Let me know if you have some specific questions.

I guess we will miss you at Wednesday's Dr. Nick support meeting :)

Good luck!

Ditto Delta's post regarding Dr. Nick. I had him (eons ago, at this point) at Baylor Plano.
He's also been awesome regarding removing my Gallbladder 9 months after my RNY, and although pretty much everyone in his office has changed since my surgery, They were very responsive in coordinating an EGD after I developed a stress-related esophageal ulcer.

Can't speak for the hospital, but the Dr. is awesome.

I LOVE Dr Nick and Brittany.  They are both awesome.  Dr Nick did my RNY last year, and then also operated on me for a pretty bad hernia earlier this year.  Both he and Brittany were there for me the whole time.  Both of my operations were at Baylor Plano, however my husband has had surgery at Forest Park and we were very impressed with that facility.  Best of luck to you!

Forest Park by far was the best hospitol experiance I have ever had. On staff physician visits you multiple times a day not just at 8 at night. Post surgury, they offered like 8 kinds of protien so you could find what works for you and nursing staff was very attentive. Only down side is that the cafe is only open at certain times for any visiting you but lots of local food places and no paid parking.
Scars are like tatoos, but with better stories.

Teresa, first off, congrats! I am so excited for you! Wow, two more days!!!

I have not had any previous experience with Forest Park as Dr. Nick has only previously begun practicing there as well, but Dr. Nick performed my surgery December 08 at Baylor Dallas, and a hernia repair surgery at Baylor Plano this past May.

I love Dr. Nick and am so happy with him and the work that he has done. I want to tell you that I am so confident in him that even when I had the hernia repair surgery very unexpectedly in May, I was not even concerned or worried about that, because I knew who was operating on me.

Please pm me or even text or call if you have any more questions or need support! I'll pm you my number! :)

Again, congrats, and we will be keeping your seat warm on the loser's bench!

Great exp with Forest park,,,had  my RNY & hernia repair there w/Dr Barker...and then I went back a month later had a gall bladder removed, month later a  dialation for stricture...they were great in ER and good service on the floor, and they send you home with a bag full of samples of vitamins, shakes etc....large, spacious , clean !  also I work across the highway, and their 2nd building is almost complete..and they are now working on the 3rd building...so guess business is great...they do alot of other surgeries there also...
