Has anyone had their surgery at Methodist on Fannin?  I am having my revision there and have never been to that hospital.  I prefer University General but it is out-of-network for me,  Thanks for any comments!  Karen

I had my surgery there. It was very nice, the nurses were all very attentive and knowledgeable about my surgery. I never had to ask for anything twice and was constantly checked on. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

Same here - had my RNY at Methodist and had very good care there - no complaints.

What are you revising from and to?  I hope it goes well for you!

Thanks for the replies!  I know it has to be a good hosptial, just wasnt sure about the bariatric department.  I am having my lapband taken out and getting rny.  I got the band in 2005 and it worked well for several years but 18 months ago I had trouble and had to have a complete unfil.  Then I could eat alot of good stuff and I liked it!  I put my weight back on and am unable to get fills because my band shows to be very tight.  I guess I have learned to eat around the band.  Because of my severe liking to sweets, rny just makes more sense for me.

I am having the RNY there on July 13th, I have BCBS insurance and they will only cover a hospital if it is recognized as a Center of Excellence and Methodist is one, so I feel confident about it.

Methodist was my first choice.  It is probably the best, in my opinion, in Houston for Great Infection control and on site doctors that can be called in at a drop of a hat should emergency arise.  The place is beautiful.
Dr. Garth does most of his surgeries now at Memorial Hermann Hospital at memorial City area.
Needed to have this done before September and was told he is booked up till end of Sept for Methodist as he limits his time there now. )-:      My doctors are Methodist based so this does concern me.  I am so jealous you are going to Methodist.  Yes, it is the Center of Excellence.  Wishing you all the best and please wish me the best too.  (-:   Pls. let us know how you are doing and again the very best to you,

I had my RNY there, and I loved it.  The hospital is a center of excellence for WLS.  The presurgery and  follow up programs are really good too.  Methodist is actually my hospital of choice.
