I would like to try some homemade vinaigrette dressings.  Any recipes that you can share are most appreciated!!

Blessings,

Nina, I've tried quite a few off of sparkpeople.com and recommend you check out thier free site.  Not only do I find great recipies, but people also write and tell how they altered it for their specific taste.

Good luck!

Nina,

I will talk to my wife later and see if she has any good ones in her computer data base and I will check a couple of new cookbooks we have. I have not tried any of them since my surgery so I have not modified them for my improved lifestyle. There are several great websites that have tons of recipes to try that are free to access some even have peoples feedback on the recipe and offer their variation to the recipe. I know some of the recipe sites the people who post comments seem to forget that each individuals tast are different and skill level also plus altitude affects some recipes as well. Have fun with the vinaigrette dressings and I will try to have some for you later in the day.

I will e-mail you two recipes I had my wife pull from her recipes data base. We have not tried these recipes ourselves in the future I may try them out. I tend to use dressing to spice up and flavor other types of dishes besides salads such as oven roasted chicken. I need to spend more time refining more recipes in order to do it that meet my requirements of be low in fat and sugar. Especially since I still have trouble eating chicken.

I haven't played around with creating an exact recipe yet, but I had some great fish tacos with a vinigrette.  It had baked fish in a soft corn tortilla with a slaw that included jicama and mandrian oranges.  I thought about making the slaw with the pre-made brocholi slaw you get in a bag, shredded jicama, can madrian oranges in splenda, and using the mandrian orange juice and lime juice in a basic vinigrette.
