Surgery date changed to tomorrow!
I went in for my pre-op today did all my testing met with my surgeon all went great. My original surgery date was June 18th, Friday. I left and was driving home and got a call from my surgeon's office. All I could think was oh no this is bad news. I answer and they ask if they can switch my surgery date to tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a nervous wreck right now getting everything in order for tomorrow morning. I am so excited for this huge life change. I have been waiting for years and can't believe it snuck up faster than I thought it would!
It can be nerve wrecking when they move it up on you. First calm down and relax because you have a lot to do before tomorrow. Make sure you have everything you need for when you come home from surgery such as vitamins, protein, clear fuilds like crystal light, sugar free popsicle chicken broth, beef broth, vegetable broth. Then make sure you have everything you need for the hospital every place is different. I took my laptop, book, comfortable clothes, and slippers. Make sure you have someone to take you and stay with you. If not there are plenty of people on the TMB that can assist you. Also make sure you have someone to drive you home. Essentially everything you were going to do tomorrow for the surgery on the 18th move up to day. Good luck as you get ready to make the next part of your journey to a new healthier you. We will dust off another spot on the loser bench. We will pray that your surgery goes smoothly and keep us informed.
Thanks everyone. I think I am still in shock HA HA! I was not expecting to be bumpd up a day sooner. I just had my last "meal" for awhile. I went last week and bought all the things I would need for the next two weeks as far as nutrition, also got my vitamins a few weeks ago and have been doing protein shakes all week. Just making sure I have everything for the hospital and all my ducks in a row as far as paperwork or things I need to remember. My brain is scattered right now! My husband and son will be there with me for surgery tomorrow and will bring me home on Saturday. He won't be able to be up there a lot just because our son is 14 months old and doesn't want to sit still anymore and wants to get into everything but atleast to see their face for a little bit each day will be nice. I think my husband is more nervous than me. So surreal right now! I will make sure to post when I get home as I don't have a laptop to bring with me. Got my book packed. Thanks everyone again I will be happy to join you on the losers bench!

I will never forget Mary's (spouse) approval process. She went to the doctor around May 24th. They told her they would get back to her with a date. (This was 3 years ago, so there was no 7 day liquids, just the night before). On May 31st, in the afternoon, she got a call. "How about 6:30 tomorrow morning?"
Mary told them no, simply because June 1st is our anniversary. She wanted to go out with me. So, they gave her June 6th instead.
