I need serious life advice

Texas is an at will state and if you are still on your probationary period it is even a more at will state! Where is New Boston? Are there any other towns/cities closer to you then SA - so you don't have to leave hubby?
Also - what about school districts? (I am presuming they will hire LVN's) What school nurses do generally is a piece of cake. Retirement homes? (Of course- depending on the nature of the home - may require lifting.)

Like everyone has mentioned Texas is a work at will state and that does not make things any easier for you. Many businesses prefer employees to be 100% before returning to work and that is partially a liability issue. Plus, some employers actually care about their employers. One of the nurses on the board mentioned maybe now is the time for some more personal growth and move up to a RN. This would give you more job finding power and even some amount of flexibility.
Please forgive me if I sound philosophical here as I just finished my last class for my degree in business management and the foucs of it was personal and professional growth. The economic times are changing and we need to change with them. Companies and even hospitals are re-organizing to remain competitive and yet to offer the same quality service. It is this reason I went back to school myself even though my job is fairly secured I want room to move and flexibility as the future is a great unknown. You have a difficult road ahead of you and there is no way to sugar coat it or make it any easier. The best thing to do is take what everyone is saying, research, and think about the situation and make the decision best for you and your family. I wish you the very best of kuck with what you decide to do and hope everythings works out.
