News from The Kings

A few weeks ago King was diagnosed with an abdominal wall hernia.  He had mentioned a few times about possibly getting VSG.  When he found out about the hernia he wanted to know if Dr Meyers could repair the hernia and do the VSG at the same time.  I made a few phone calls and sure enough he can. 

Submitted to insurance (UHC Choice Plus) and had approval for VSG in 3 days.  It's been a rush of getting all the pre-op stuff done (nutrition visit, exercise guru (one of Dr Meyers requirements), labs, EKG, cardiac clearance due to his stints) but we go TOMORROW (6/15) for surgery.

Funny thing is I was never one second anxious or nervous when it was me, but man oh man, I'm anxious about his.  Weird how that works.

So anyway - we'll be making room for King on the loser's bench soon.  I'm going to try to get him to get online here, but it's not likely.

That is great news.  Best of luck to him.  He's got a great coach to help him along.

Thanks, George.  I'll do my best to keep him on the right track.  He can be a little hard headed on occasion, but he's handled the last 2 days a lot better than I thought!

Yep - my head has been spinning it's all happening so quickly.  Thank goodness my job was OK with a last minute vacation scheduling.

 WOW Great news Jodie.   Tell King he will be in our thoughts and prayers tomorrow along with yourself that all will go well with both procedures on him.    We are moving over and making room for him.    Please update us after it is all over.   Good luck King !!!

Sure thing, Dana.  We're on the schedule for 8:30 - first up on the docket.  We have to be there at 6am to get the good stuff going.  I might have to ask for a little goofy juice for myself along the way! LOL

Truly amazing how fast all that stuff got done, especially in conjunction with the hernia diagnosis.  Clearly the guy upstairs wants this to happen.  So:  No need to be nervous.  He's going to see it through.
