Hey -  I'm really really really trying to get back focused and get back on track and doing much better for the past couple of days.....

My questions.....is:

If I have an Atkins Shake when I first get up............it is feasible to "eat" something later in the morning -   9ish or so..............?    Oatmeal or just maybe a fruit type snack in stead.....

I really miss my burrito - but I know that is NOT the healthy choice........but I feel that I'm Missing breakfast..................I AM NOT HUNGRY THOUGH........

Is this head hunger?

If you are not hungry, then DON'T EAT!

If you are really hungry then have a protein snack around 9ish - yogurt, cheese stick, cottage cheese, nuts etc.  If you want carbs, make sure it is whole grain so your blood sugar doesn't crash and you end up starving in an hour.  Maybe add some protein to it, like cheese and whole grain crackers for example.

Good for you for getting back on track -  you will feel better!

Phyllis....as Sara said the Adkins shake is a meal.   I usually do a shake in the AM and that is my breakfast.   If you get hungry try something high in protein....low in calories.    You might want to do what I am doing ( although sometimes I goof up ) I count calories along with making sure I am getting all my protein in .   I have lost 5 lbs. last week doing this.    I also am measuring my foods....trying to keep everything I eat low in calories and fat.    Call me if you need any suggestions....but I know you know what to do.   Good luck .....I am here if you need added support.

Hugs and blessings ~~~Vivian

Thanks Vivian -   I am starting to get hungry - but with what i'm was eating lately - my BODY thinks it is hungry..........I can do lunch at 11am.........I am trying so hard NOT to eat or graze through the day  and well - now that it is almost 1030 - I can wait until 11 and make that my lunch............

I can easily do the cheese stick, etc..............just trying to think of only eating when I need too - at meal-time......etc............instead of  here and there.........

Thanks everyone !

Phyllis.....I have discovered that for me that it.....the farther post op I become I only need 3 meals.   I can't do the mini meals anymore.    Just doesn't work.  Also I have to keep calories way down.    Take come carrott sticks to work with you and munch on them if you get hungry.   They  are low in calories and satisty the want for crunchy things.   You could do celery too but I don't like raw celery.   Just some suggestions.   I eat lots of cottage cheese with splenda and cinnamon.  Yummy !!!   Good luck Phyllis.    Don't let that little pouch get the best of you.....show it WHO is BOSS !!!!  Love ya !!!

Several questions, Phyllis...

1) What time are you waking up and drinking the shake?
2) How many calories are you aiming for per day?
3) How many meal & snacks are you planning?

There is a different in healthy eating and dieting....

Just because our pouches are smaller it does not mean we throw away the concept of fuel for our bodies/mind. That does not change.

If you can eat solid food, I would personally stay away from the shake. You can eat something solid and get the same nutritional value that you would in the shake, and it will make you feel "normal" and not like you are dieting.

Remember we had the surgery to be normal; not on diets the rest of our lives. It sounds like you are setting yourself up to binge at some point, in the future.
