The NIGH****CHMAN - 5/28-29 Weekend edition
Yikes Sarah...that's scary! Just creepy to know someone has been through your stuff. I'm with you, no money in MY car! hehehe... Heck, they wouldn't even find quarters...MAYBE a few pennies but that is it. You know though, on a serious note, the constable told us the one thing to do aside of ALWAYS locking your door if it is not in an enclosed garage, keep your garage door opener (for those who have them that is...) in a very consealed place. He said sometimes when a person has their car sitting there in the driveway, windows open, in broad daylight the people will not rifle through as of course they might be spotted, but, if they see a garage door opener, they take that and then come back when your car is not there. The slip in, shut the door, then go in, get what they want, then slip out without anyone seeing. Bad thing is they have the opener to come back. He told us that if you notice it is missing, IMMEDIATELY disable the opener, then get a replacement and change the code to a new combination (on the main unit) and then match them up with the opener to reprogram it. Our local constable also gave pointers of not leaving the garage door open when even doing lawn stuff unless of course you are right out front. I know our neighbor had a his leaf blower and weed eater taken that way. Probably a lawn crew that needed a new one so they just walked down the street, walked into the garage and helped themselves! I harp on my husband ALL the time about shutting the garage because we have a half acre in our backyard to mow so he's out back for a while, even with the riding mower. He's getting a bit better but I know I always shut it when I notice it's open! Wish everyone followed that rule that I used to tell my girls (and sadly STILL have to from time to time...LOL), "keep your hands, feet, and all other body parts TO YOURSELF"...or "if it is not yours, don't touch it"! Of course some people have NO self control like they should. Sad, really!!!
Ok, go hit that lock button on your car!!!

Evenin' big bro...
Well, last soccer game of the season today. OMG it was NAUSEATINGLY hot out there. I was smart....brought flexible ice packs for Sarah to use on her neck, face, or wherever she wanted to put it. I swear, that makes a WORLD of difference in her while she's on her 4-5 min. break. In fact, two of the boys on our team needed to borrow one while they sat out as they were sick to their stomach from the heat. Just in that few minutes of using it, they felt better. Of course the two moms were like, "wow, that DOES work"? I said, "yep, that's why I bring them to every game when it is hot like it is"! I had brought cupcakes that I got from Sam's for the kids after the game and they were so hot, a lot of them didn't even want them. Soooo, we have them in the fridge now. Thankfully cupcakes do nothing for me except make me horribly sick so I am not tempted to eat them! Been there, done that! Blech!!! Sarah didn't get a goal so she was disappointed, but it definitely was not from lack of trying. I swear, EVERYONE was rooting her on to get a goal as they could see she wanted to get one so badly. Betcha she had about 15 shots on goal but either the goalie stopped them, or she would miss by just a little and it would go outside the goal, or deflect off someone and go out. The other team was very good, too. They were evenly matched. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. They really are not supposed to keep score....but the kids do anyway!!!
Need to wash my car tomorrow but only if it's a bit cooler. May just take it somewhere as we have a few good places around here that do a good job and it's all enclosed. No sun to bake down on the soap!
Just finished watching game one of the hockey playoffs - the Chicago Blackhawks vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. Can you imagine how THAT went in MY house?
Hmm, I'm from Illinois and he's from Philadelphia.... I just sat there rooting them on quietly and Chicago ended up on top.
Both teams look strong though. It's been a very long time since either team has won the Stanley Cup so no matter who wins, it will be a great victory for their team and their city!
Ok, Schnitzel is pawing me for some ice so I'd better go fish some out of my tea cup for him!

Good evening Sis. I have finished 5 hours of my 12 hour shift tonight. I will survive.
Not too keen on the Hockey or Basketball playoffs. As long as there is baseball going on, it has my attention. Even in September, give the choice of watching a 3rd place Rangers game, or any football game, the choice is baseball for me.
Rented a car through Hotwire this evening for our trip to Oklahoma in July. I like the idea of having it paid for up front. Going to a church reunion.
Not much else going on here.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Yeah, I was on Orbitz and Travelocity tonight myself looking into flights from my mom and dad's in Illinois to Paul's parents as he wants us to go out there to visit. UGH. SUCH a pain in the butt to do that. He always says it is to "visit my dad since his health slowly continues to decline", but, then as soon as we're there, he wants to run all over the place to meet up with his old friends. I'm like, "uhhh, hey, didn't we come here to "visit your dad"? I've already told him I refuse to be brought out there only to be used for his "designated driver" so he can hob-nob with his buddies, drinking half the night, then expect me to bring him home. Sorry, not gonna happen. I'm not booking anything right now though because the air fares are just way too high right now. I'm not going to spend darn near $1800 for the girls and I to go out there for like four days. I'm SURE a sale will pop up within the next month. I'm not going there until the very last day in July anyway!
As far as the hockey goes, I do like to watch, but it's moreso to needle Paul right now since he's sooooo sure his Flyers are going to beat the Blackhawks. I just love watching him fall apart in front of the TV. Starts off all excited, then turns to disappointment, then he's irked! hehehe... Best part is I really don't ever have to say a word - he just does it all by his widdle-bitty self!

Hey George:
Please add my son's grandmother (my ex-mother-in-law) to the prayer list. His father called me last night to tell me she is on life support and a feeding tube and they do not think she will make it through the weekend. I know she is ready to go home - just her sons need to let go and they can't.
Thank you.
