I know this topic has been covered numerous times on the board, but I wanted to mention this bit of info. I remember some of you use Nectar protein shakes and or drinks. The company that makes it is called Sytrax www.syntrax.com. After visiting their website and contacting them I found out they do offer a trial package of the products, which cost 9.99 whi*****ludes shipping. So, if you are wanting to try something different but do not want to invest a lot of money into buying a big container this is one brand of protein to look into. I have not tried any yet but I just finish mixing the caribbean cooler and will be drinking here soon. I just wanted to share this information to anybody who may be thinking about changing things up a bit. They will also send you a little brochure of their products also. To find the right spot on their website you want to visit the medical portion of the website. I am very pleased with their customer service as the trial package arrived a day earlier than they said it would.

Thank you so much for letting us know this.   Last night I took one of my SG members that is about a week post op from VSG some protein samples.    She went to Vitamin Shoppe looking for samples and only found one kind.   I will contact her and let  her know this.    We appreciate you so much for posting this and I know that newbies will really appreciate that information also.

For summer, the Carribean Cooler mixed with 20 oz cold water, the carry along tube of Crystal light orange, add a few ice cubes adn shake shake shake  you get about 30g protein and water.
I had my mom try some - told her it was juice. she raved then when i said it was a protein shake she made a face lol.

i also like the roadside lemonade to put into my iced tea. There are lots fo creative things to do with their flavors out there

I know that my taste is every changing and I buying protein is a big  and required investment  for us. I am going to talk to a distributor here in 2 weeks and see if I can get some more leads on companies that have offers of trial samples of their products suited for our needs. The thing with Syntrax is their trial package includes 11 flavors of protein shakes/mixes which to me is great because you can which of the flavors work for you. I tried the Caribbean cooler last night it smells yummie and taste good I would make sure that you mix it with crushed ice. One company I do know that does not offer individuals samples is Isopure, however if you can convenience your doctor about they do offer sample to healthcare professionals. As I find deals on products we can use I will post them on the board.  Also, if you know of a product that you would like to try and get from a local store you may try contacting Albertson's, HEB, or Whole Foods and see if they can special order the product for you sometimes they will be able to get it for you cheaper and at a discount. I order my protein bars through Whole Foods and get a 10% discount which helps a lot in my cost.  Also I would recommend if you shop at Vitamin Shoppe that you look at their website at the prices of the product because the store price and web prices do differ and a majority of the time the web prices are cheaper. You can talk to you local store and see if they will match the web prices most of the time they will do it. I hope this information is helpful for someone.

once in a while GNC or other places that sell isopure  - if they sell the single serving packs - will have a box come in crushed or otherwise mangled and I was able to try quite a few of their flavors that way
I always suggest buying it locally the first time and then AFTER you know what you like going for the best deals on line
also  - and I don't suggest this as an ongoing solution but GNC, walmart (if they have anything you will drink - I've only found rtd there that I am ok with) and I believe vit shop will refund or give you store credit if you buy a tub take it home and try it and it is horrible to you.

Vita lady has samples too btw

Home is where the army allows me to live with my husband

I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail

I picked up a free sample of one protein shake the last time I was at Vitamin Shoppe. A new one opened up in Georgetown that has bigger variety merchandise. I do not go to GNC very much as in the past they are usually over priced and sales staff gives out bad advice to follow. I had a a couple of them tell me to take more than the recommended dosage of a fat burner that contained a now banned substance due heart risk. So, now if I go there it is only to look for any good deals once in a bluemoon and avoid bad advice. But I have looked at them for the Isopure they want more than Vitamin Shoppe for it. My Wal-mart does not carry much except the EAOS advantage carb control in vannila and chocolate RTD and they do have a tub of protein powder that I could try but I wanting to look at others more designed for us before trying the other. I met  someone a couple of months back that is distributor of protein drinks/ shakes. I am going to talk to him soon like I said previously about obtaining samples for different companies. He may have some samples himself for me I just have not asked him about it. I try not have buy anything on the web unless I absolutely have too because of the shipping cost and time product arrives.
