Ramblings of an 8 Year Post Op...
Thank-you! It is hard to find people that far out who are still active on the board. I am just starting my journey, dont even have a date yet. (Wondering from time to time if it is the right decision!)
It is good to hear the "mushy" side and reflect. It is easy to get caught up in the day to day trials.

Im only a mere FOUR years out, but was active on the board for about 2-3 years prior, yes YEARS prior. I fought my insurance several years before finally becoming self pay. So stick around, its worth it :)

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
Thank you..Thank you..Thank you for your post. It is exactly what I needed to hear. I want to hear "the good the bad and the ugly," but today for some reason I started feeling hopeless about the years to come. Sometimes it seems like living post RNY years out is horrible and maintaining our loss is almost impossible. I really needed to hear you say the things you did. Congratulations on an amazing success story.
Thank you for your comment. I think I have been getting fearful over reading about the stretched stomas, pouches and what happens when it occurs. I am so grateful for this surgery and want to learn from the veterans what to watch out for. You are so right about shopping and being able to breathe. Sitting in the car while my husband went into Wal Mart by himself because my feet hurt too badly are days gone by. I actually like going into Wal Mart now...even though it is a big store.
