 Hi Jessica,

I take Centrum ( Walmart generic brand that is ) Mature Multivitamins with iron,  Spring Valley ( Walmart brand ) B=12 sublingual 500 mg, Spring Valley D3....2000 IU gel caps, BA Calcium Citrite 1600 mg.
Can you tell me WHY you want to change??   Trust me....the BA and Celebrate vitamins are probably much better for you....more absorbable.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Vivian,

I am asking this question because I wanted to compare prices compared to what I spend online through Bariatric advantage and celebrate! My labs have been perfect with the BA/Celebrate, and I do really like the chewable tablets! I just really wanted to look at prices.

Dr. Thompson suggested the Walmart Equate Childrens Chewables.  I have to order my iron online.  My iron was low because I my system just wasn't handling the regular iron so I take Ferrett's IPS.  It's non constipating and it seem to be helping.  I have never found a calcium I really like.  I have been buying the chewy things from BA but they are expensive.  I may just have to try the Citacal Peities and see how I do on  them.  Somedays pills don't bother me at all and on other days I get really sick to my stomach after I take them.

I can't believe we are both almost 3 years out.  Time has just flown.  Are you having trouble with gaining?  I have put on about 5 pounds and although I feel better I hate it. LOL  I want to feel good and weigh below 150. LOL

Teena, I'm with ya honey.  I stay between 153-158 and would LOVE to get to 145 but I've never gotten below 153.  Today I'm 155.4.  Also, I was wearing size 8 jeans and now they aren't even close to zipping.  What up with that?  3 lbs shouldn't make that big of a difference but apparently it does.~well either that or my hips are suddenly widening.

Teena,

Thanks so much for replying! I am so excited about our 3 yr surgiversary coming up, but like you its hard to believe its been that long!! I had never asked Dr. Thompson about the children's chewables before, I will look into it. I have to have iron transfusion for my iron, but I was anemic way before surgery, too. I have been buying all my vitamins online but was wondering if prices were better by doing it via store and using the buy one get one free stuff. I did see the commercial for the Citical Petites and it being calcuim citrate, which I was excited!

Actually with gaining, no. I have been maintaing, and start losing again recently. LOL! With the extra skin I have right now, I have not made it below the 150 on the scale, but my PCP and both Dr. Thompson and Barker cannot believe that I am not 150. : ) I try not to focus on the number on the scale anymore!

I really can't stand the taste of most of the chewables anymore except the Bariatric Advantage brand. But I don't like paying that much for vitamins. So I use Centrum regular (the new smaller pill) and Citracal's Petittes for my calcium. I have no problems swallowing either of them and they work for me just great. Great price as well.

Mary T,

Thanks!!! I wanted to compare prices compared to what I spend online through Bariatric advantage and celebrate! My labs are great with the vitamins that I take, but I was really looking at price saving and if the results of OTC provided the same results on labs. I have had no problems with my labs in 3 years.
Thanks!!

I buy the celebrate vitamins at a local Nutrition Depot.  My Nut just asked them to carry it, and they do.  You could ask a local vitamin store to carry them and see if they will.  Actually, I find it easier to mail order than drive out to pick up vitamins.

Hi Jessica,

I don't have any comments on the vitamins because I'm still newly post-op and in the chewable phase.

Just wanted to comment that we live in the same town!
