Good afternoon all.  Beautiful day outside.  Mary is watching Alex and Eryn right now while Oleta's sister is having her tonsils taken out.  I've gotta bring the kids back.

Ready for baseball season to start.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  AND SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Hi George,
I had my tonsils out in my 30s and they say adults have a harder time of it. What saved my life were Cepacol lozenges.
I was a few days post op and thought a baked potato would be soft enough. It was like swallowing rocks. So, tell her to go for soft stuff, like we have to eat post-op.

The only good cat is a sleeping cat...>^--^< zzzzzzz

Talked with my DIL tonight.   She is being a good "nurse" and making sure all rules are followed.

Ok...figured I'd better check in today...thanks for calling to make sure I was ok!!!  Ok, but running around chasing my tail it seems!  Doesn't help that this hip of mine is being obnoxious.  Need to check with the PT people to see when they are going to start scheduling the physical therapy.  That constant, naggy achiness is a pain in the a$$!

Heather had her last tennis match of the season before districts start next week.  She was 1-2 but man did she have some tough competition.  Two out of the three she lost were state ranked kiddos and the girl she beat from Klein was just outright nasty.  Glad she beat her.  As you know, Heather is deaf in one ear which doesn't make any difference in tennis, but sometimes, like today, when the wind is blowing and she has her left side facing in, if the opponent says anything to her, she probably isn't going to hear whatever it is she said which is exactly what happened.  It was 4-1 and Heather was ahead.  The girl tried saying it was 3-2.  Heather recounted ALL the points to assure her that she only had ONE and not two games as she was believing.  So the girl got frustrated and said, "oh, well, and by the way, I can't hear your scores and I asked you to speak up."  Heather politely said, "I'm sorry, I'm completely deaf in my left ear and just probably didn't hear you".  The girl then has the audacity to say, "oh, sorry, do you want a prize for being deaf in your left ear"?  WTF???  That chick is SOOOOO glad that THIS mom wasn't there to hear that because I can assure you, I would have summoned the site director to the court and DEMANDED an apology.  There is NO room for that kind of behavior in ANY sport, heck regardless of sport, there is just no room for that kind of talk PERIOD!  ARGH!  I know the girl was frustrated and more than likely she doesn't normally spout off like that but geez oh Pete, conduct yourself in the scholastic sportsmanship that you KNOW you should be projecting!  My girls can cut up and say something when we are completely off the courts - just running errands, and I will remind them that their type of banter is not necessary and NOT the way they are to act because regardless whether they are on the court or not, they need to promote themselves as role models ALL the time.  Grrrr, that girl really pissed me off.  Heather kept her cool though and put the girl in her place by beating her 8-5.  Klein is #2 in the state in Team Tennis so if she was going to beat someone, that girl was definitely one who needed a good dose of LOSING!

Ok, time to get things ready to get Sarah off to her tennis lessons.  She won't be done until 7:00 so I'll have a little time to get things done.  Need to sew a pair of bell-bottoms for a project of Heather's.  Got cheapy blue jeans and some rather "flowery" material to sew into the bell of the bell-bottoms!  She has to dress as a hippie for her unit on the 60's and 70's.  Already made the flower headband.  Too funny.  I have a shirt with a huge peace sign on it so that will suffice for the shirt and open toe sandals for the shoes.  Hopefully that will work!!!

Later...

No sweat.  Just missed you and was worried.

Don't know about these kids today.

Make sure you keep us informed of the girls' progress in district.

Hope V gets her grade up a nudge.

Obviously not.  There is not a big ole grin across my face.  I am getting so antsy.

If it doesn't rain, I will be going to the game Friday night.  Which doesn't count at all.  And most of the big boys will be out of by the 5th inning.  But I want to get to the Ballpark.  They redid the centerfield gift shop.  That will be the grand opening I believe.
