UPDATE:  Oleta's mother's condition has worsened.  At the hospital, the doctors said there is absolutely nothing they can do.  They could find no reason to keep her in the hospital.  Amuptation is not an option because she would not survive an operation.  Skin graft not an option because she has no skin they can use.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

OH NO !!  I was hoping that the least they could have done was the srugery to amputate with the hopes that things would get better in time..............

Maybe a miracle can happen...............we can all pray and PRAY HARD.......

Just hope that she doesn't suffer with the pain too much............

(((((((((((Huggss))))))))))))))  to all !!

I am glad I can be there too.  Had a talk with Oleta over the phone today.  I had asked her if she told her brother of this setback.   She said no, he really isn't interested.   The last time she talked to him, he basically said let me know when it happens.  Cold.  Plus hardly anyone from the family stops by to see her while she is in hospice at Oleta's house.  Oleta was saying they don't know how much being a caregiver is taking out of her.  No one offers to help.  I told her that's not right, Mary and I are always there.  She said she was talking about her family.  She said you and Mary drop whatever you are doing to help me when I ask.  I told her that is what family does.  At that point was the first time I heard that girl cry over the situation.  God bless her.

Continuing to keep Brad, Oleta and her mom in my thoughts.  Definitely tough to go through this kind of thing, but even worse this time of year.  You and Mary help in ways you probably don't even realize.  Heck, just being there for Oleta to talk to was a perfect example.  What a shame that HER family isn't stepping up.  Wish there was something they could do for that poor lady.  NO ONE should be in pain like that.

She is now home, because she has been on hospice care.  The hospital can find no reason to keep her, and they really did try.  They called in 6 different specialists on Sunday afternoon.  Cardiovascular, skin graft, plastic surgery, orthopedic, etc.  All said the same thing.  Anything they do would probably cause her to die.  So the only thing to do is wait.  And meanwhile, she suffers in pain.  I know their hands are tied, but it just doesn't seen right.  They even took xrays of her bones to see if there was an infection in her bones.  They said if there was, they could treat her with antibiotics and therefore let her stay at the hospital.  But, no infection so, as I said, she is home.

They are in my prayers.  Being a caretaker is very hard on a person.  Especially when none of your family seems to care that they are suffering.
