Well....Shelly at Dr. Kim's office called me a little bit ago. Seems my gall bladder isn't working properly. No gall stones. I have to go to Arlington tomorrow AM to have yet another test ran. This test will confirm what is going on with my gall bladder. I will keep everyone posted as I get results from tests back.

Viv, Sounds like things are headed in the right direction. Funny they didn't take your gallbladdrer when they did your WLS. It's well known as we lose wt. the gallbladder gets stressed from the fat. Do you have to do another prep?Had my gallbladder out 19yr.s ago was easy. Only stayed overnite because I lived a distance from the hospital and lived alone. Was easier than the Band.

Missnanajean......my surgeon doesn't remove the gall bladder when he does his WLS. I am right at 4 yrs post op. I have to go back tomorrow AM and have another test done to make sure that the gall bladder isn't functioning properly. Guess my insurance is making that happen.

LOL That is my thought exactly. Don't care to do another test. All these tests are costing me money. Guess I have to do what is required from the insurance to get approval though.

Thanks so much Danni. I just looked up all the symptoms of Gallbladder disfunction and I have pretty much all them. I just want it out before the end of the year if it needs to go. New insurance kicks inro affect in Jan. and it is not nearly as good as what we have now.

2 yrs out - I still have my gall bladder too...........my surgeon doesn't take it out either at WLS....

I told him that he had permission to take EVERYTHING out that I didn't "need" any more........and whatever might cause me problems later and including all the plumbing too !!

He just laughed.

..........said he couldn't do that !!

As of 11-10-13 I have had weight gain. Not happy about that.

My feelings exactly !!! LOL In fact I am having a sonogram of my female organs on monday. These doctors are sure checking me out thoroughly !!! The lower abdominal pain I have been having could be female problems. Hope not with the gallbladder thing going on.

Well, hopefully that is it .. A very simple procedure to take it out, lap-wise, VP .. You won't even miss it!

I know our surgeons all have their own philosophy on the subject, but mine is one of those that insists on always removing the gallbladder during his procedures .. I'm glad he did, b/c I'd hate to have to go into surgery again just to have one taken out .. At least this way it's one less thing to worry about ..

btw, VP (and everyone) .. Our office manager's son got hired as a seasonal driver for U;P.S. and starts tomorrow (to the GREAT relief of his mom) ..

Pay for seasonal drivers is $16+ an hour, and excellent health and education benefits (UPS pays for all tuition of its employees, even if totally unrelated to their postiion or any position offered at UPS!) I would encourage anyone looking for work - that can handle the manic driving involved - to check it out ..
