Vivian - I read this thread earlier today, along with everyone's comments, prayers and advice, and you've been on my heart for the rest of the day. I have not dealt with anything close to your current cir****tances but I do have a prayer for you.

I pray that you have the wisdom to hear God's voice and the courage to walk it.

I added the courage part because of Moses. He KNEW God's voice and the path he was suppose to take (I mean, c'mon...a talking, burning bush?!?) And the very first thing he did was argue. Doh! (In Moses' defense, God was asking him to return to a land where he was wanted for murder and to proclaim to Pharaoh about God wanting Egypt to give up its entire slave-based economy. I see the logic.)

So, yes, I pray that you have the courage to walk the right path, illogical, frightening, off the edge of the cliff or not. If God points that direction, you'll be happier following it. And I get the strong sense that is your heart's cry - to hear His voice and to dwell beside the still waters.

Thank you for your kind words and trust me Belle....I am praying and listening to what God is telling me. My son did take his Bible to Detox with him. I pray that God will speak to him while he is there.

Th evry best advice for you I have is to join a 12 step program for family members...it will help you find clarity as to when you are enabling vs really helping...believe me..had a family memeber go through it...addiction to a drug like that is terrible /...this is their chance to "clean the slate" more or less. parents that helped them out. See how they handle rehab...if this happens again...then you need to know how to react....good luck and I will be thinking about you....

Thank you July. I am going to look into that and insist that they go also. Natalie had mentioned this to me before she went into Detox on wednesday.

It is a very hard position you are in. Just remember, drug addicts say what they know you want to hear. So it is hard to tell if they are telling the truth. I agree with you, it is a positive sign that he took his Bible with him. God bless you. Prayers going up.

Thank you George !!!! I know...we have been lied to so many times by him and after meeting with her Mom last night....she has lied to us too. I am definately going to confront them on all these things !!!! I will NOT have liars living in my house and I will definately not tolerate stealing either. I have been through far too much in my lifetime. It is their decisions on what they do in life....but that doesn't have to mean that I have to put up with their stupid stuff and I won't !!!! Please continue to pray for them that God will speak to them both and that they will listen to his voice !!!!
