The NIGH****CHMAN - Weekend edition 9/11

 Good afternoon.

First I want to thank Que for starting the thread she started here this morning.  Please make sure you take time today to remember the victims of 9/11.

Next, I want to thank my dear friend Sandi for the wonderful picture she has of Mary and I on her Facebook page.  I fell so in love with it that I made it my background on my computer.  Rare to catch the two of us so joyous.  Not that we aren't, but it is not often captured on posed pictures.  I don't know what was said before the picture was taken, but Mary certainly got a kick out of it.

I am getting ready for a busy weekend.  I told the guys at work that I can't wait to get back to work Sunday so I can rest.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Other prayer requests:

Dana requested we add Susan T. and her son to the prayer list.  Justin had a visit to the oncologist today and actions are being pursued.

Dana's friend Rachel is 25 years old and pregnant.  She has a 2 1/2 year old daughter and found out about a month ago she has inflammatory breast cancer.  They are taking the baby in October (2 months early) and will do a double masectomy.

Debra - asks for prayer for Ramon who is in the hospital from his near drowning experience.

Debra also asks for prayers for a friend of mine, Yvonne's husband Kevin.  He is in the hospital.  That is all we know for now.

Jennifer - prayer for the sale of their house.

Jenn Ewald asks prayers that her financial situation improves so she does not lose her house.

Meggie - friend Nancy is in assisted living home and is on her last days.  Pray for Meggie's family also as they try to fight through this.

Vanessa (ButterflyReborn) asks for prayers for her family and for her and her spouse's health issues.

Vanessa also asked for a request for continued prayer for The Dunford Family and all of their friends, doctors, nurses, medical staff, and even all of the people that have never met Elizabeth or the Dunford's but have prayed for and/or have been affected by their story.  Elizabeth's pain is over but the real, deep pain has yet to begin - especially for Michelle.

Below is one of God's children that definitely need our prayers.  This is one specific cases, we know there are others out there.  Remember them too.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl

Evenin' George...
Just getting ready to hit the hay.  The Walk from Obesity is tomorrow, quite early I might add, so the girls are NOT happy with their momma for signing them up to walk.  Oh well, we'll be home by like 9:30 and they can go back to bed by then if they want!

Had a nice dinner out for Paul's birthday.  I made his birthday cake in the shape of a football (thank heaven's for Wilton pans!!!).  He loved it.  Not only cake to celebrate his birthday, but the first week of football season!

Keeping our fingers crossed that it does NOT rain tomorrow for the walk!!!

Nighty-night!!!

Geez alou- where the heck is everyone?!?  Well, it's Saturday night.  Got the WHOLE family up to do the Walk from Obesity.  Even though there were lots of puddles everywhere, the walk was good!  Lots of people!  Paul even thought there were more this year than last year.  The cloud cover was so nice but it did sprinkle a bit but nothing too bad.

We came home, kind of lounged around for an hour, then went to our subdivision's main park where they put on a family fun day.  It was nice....free lunch of grilled burgers and hot dogs.  They had snow cones for the kids which of course they loved.  The area constables who actually live in the subdivision were there (since there was such a large amount of people they had to have so many cops for a particular amount of people) but it was nice because they mingled with the crowd, answered questions people might have, etc.  Of course no teenagers were seen anywhere near them, but the little kids sure hung around them!  They had a raffle and it seemed like the same three family names got called over and over again.  I'd hate to want to know how much money they put in for tickets!  We got one thing...a Cabbage Patch Doll.  Sarah will be getting that from one of her sisters for either Christmas or her birthday (she has a Dec. 31st birthday) as she was busy playing on the equipment and never even saw that we won anything!  We got home around 3:00 and then dug out the dog kennel so we could get it all cleaned up for the puppy's arrival next Sunday!  That was V's job to do and she happily did it!!!

Geez, I think I'm going to have to go see this one doc that our dermatologist told me to go see.  It's a vein specialist.  I have one huge varicose vein that she wanted me to get checked out before she treats it, but that's not the reason I want to go see him.  Last week we were working the two older girls out on the tennis court and Heather fired a shot back and I just didn't get ALL the way out of the way in time and the ball caught the side of my left leg.  Well as you can imagine, the nice tennis ball shaped bruise is HORRIBLY purple.  It didn't turn for a couple days but when it showed up, holy smokes!  What concerns me is there seems to be this blister-looking like thing within it, but when you run your hand over it, the skin is smooth, so the blister/bubble thing seems to be on the INSIDE.  Hurts like a witch, too!  Have no idea what the heck it is aside of just trauma to the vein there.  Can't hardly touch it as it is mighty painful!!!  OUCH!

OH...and George...the girls both made the newspaper this morning!!!  Of course, they didn't put THAT article in the online section, so I emailed the sports guy and asked if he'd be so kind to start adding the tennis updates to the online portion so my mom and dad as well as my sister could at least read it!  My sister said, "ok, you are going to have to start cutting out those articles and make a scrapbook."  Yeah, right.  I suck at scrapbooks.  Rubber stamping cards are one thing, scrapbooks, haven't the faintest idea!!!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Yucky day today.  Rain, rain, and more rain.  Didn't go to the game because of the constant drizzle.  Didn't want Mary to sit through that two days in a row, because tomorrow is a doubleheader that we are going to.
