Sunday WLS Express

Good morning.  Slept good last night in the hotel since all the beauty princesses must have gone home from their pageant...I didn't wake up until 7:30.

I'm going to let Ben sleep and hope to leave the hotel around 10-10:30 and eat at Breadwinners in Inwood Village or at a Taco Cabana...whichever Ben chooses.  Breadwinners has wonderful brunch food and high protein...Taco Cabana is one of my all time fav cheap places.  I love their bean and cheese breakfast tacos and I get some bacon on it.  I'll be happy either way.

We had a great time at WinStar yesterday even though we didn't break their bank like Jodi and Kathy.  Que...I hated missing you and Tom.  We left when Ben got ready to leave since the trip was for him.
Steph...wished you would have not had to leave your $$ there.  Lunch was fun...enjoyed Kathy's dad Billy and Phyllis, Karen, and Ashleigh.

Prayers to Meggie and Rebecca and Dana's sister to be healthy soon.

Danni...I know right now is hard on you.  Hang in there and this month will be up before you know it.

Have a great Sunday!

Karla

morning everyone,

I know only too well about that pity party and missing out on all the fun stuff.  Happens for me more often than not.  I try to keep myself busy but it's not the same. There is just so much going on that I would love to do with my peeps and I just can't.  OH well, my challenge in life, for now.

Spent most of the day yesterday fighting those, ummm, nice, yeah that's it.. folks that frequent Walmart here because they are visiting to tube or are more permanent 'visitors'.  That place is infuriating sometimes.  Gonna have to go back to shopping at 3am like I used to when i was married and Emm was a baby.  No one in there.    Got home and no flour, so it was another trip to HEB.

About 3 we started the dough for kolaches, then Emm bailed on me to go with her dad.  So at 9:30, I had finished up 6 dozen kolaches.  Gonna have folks try them out and see if they are worth making for a booth at Octoberfest so I can have some Christmas money.

I have another batch of dough rising already this morning.  Will make another couple dozen kolaches (cream cheese, cherry and blueberry) and then do cinnamon rolls with the rest.  Been told those are pretty awesome as well.  It's a lot of work but if folks love them, and will pay for them, it's worth it.

Not much else in my life.  Thankfully I can make the sweet stuff and leave it alone.  Still fighting the carb bug with potatoes and all that other stuff.  Just want to hold steady and try to stay focused.

Love and miss you guys very much.  And I sure love you no matter what that dang scales says.

Becky, I'm sure they would sell but my question is how many can you make in a day?  I would guess they have to be made the day you sell them cuz I imagine most people are only going to want to buy "fresh" ones.  Just a thought.  The pecan idea you could do ahead of time and they wouldn't go stale.  Miss you, sorry you're so far away.  Thank God for facebook!!

I so feel your pain on Wal-Mart.  I love to hit ours on the off hours.  Of course I spend more that way but jeez, I hate that crowd.

Would love your recipe - I have been wanting to try making some. I have about a month before school starts and I won't have any time as I am taking 6 classes. (I am crazy....)

GOOD MORNING! I didn't go to sleep until 11pm, which is very late for me, so I slept in this morning. We're all just having a quiet morning. Chris now has jeans for horse camp this week, and a few new shirts for school. I need to get him 1-2 more pairs of shorts, as his current ones are getting too big-he's losing weight. But for the most part we're going to stick with what we have, since he is losing. Don't want to spend alot of money on pants until it gets cooler. We're going shoe shopping today- didn't get to it yesterday. His school supplies are already bought via the PTA, and he's ready for school now!
Gina- hope today goes well for you.
Michelle-good luck on our endoscopy tomorrow. I hope they find some answers.
Karla-glad you all had a great time. Sorry I couldn't make it up there. Have a safe trip.
Danni-can't wait to see pictures of your house-sounds neat. A good application is www.photoshow.com -its very easy to upload photos and then you can just put the link for people to see. I love photoshow.
I've had foot surgery years ago for a neuroma and every once in a while I get this gripping pain-the scar tissue from the surgery swells. So I've got the paraffin wax machine heating up. Its the only thing that relieves the swelling and pain. I love it. Makes my feet all soft too!
Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning Train Riders!  Getting ready for church and a busy day.  I've got errands to run and chores to do after church, and am planning on taking the dogs over to the in-laws to play in the pool later.  Yesterday was great!  We had a really good turn out at IKEA, then did a girls day shopping marathon.  We went to Sam Moon's, Fashion Bug, and Charming Charlies.  I got some great deals at Fashion Bug, and managed to stay within the budget I set.

I'll repost tomorrow, but please say some prayers for Jeff tomorrow at 10am.  He's got an interview for a position that sounds interesting at a security company.  It would be an amazing blessing if he got an offer this soon after starting his job hunt.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

I'm up but would love to be back in bed curled up under the covers!!!  Late night last night as my wonderful hubby was in his final performance of The Odd Couple we went to the cast party after the final show and got home late, late!!!  I was so proud of him for doing this!!  He is so shy and quiet so it was a real shock to see him on stage doing his thing!!!!

Today is my last day of summer vacation as I go back to work tomorrow!!!  So once MIL heads back to San Antonio this morning I'm doing nothing!!!!  Tomorrow will be along day especially since I will no longer have nap time!!!!

Prayers for all who need them today!

Good morning all...what a fun day yesterday.  I don't even care that I didn't win, at least a couple people did.  Woohoo for them.  I was so tired driving home I could barely keep my eyes open.  I had gone to bed early Friday night knowing I would be up early and going all day.  Well sleep didn't come for long cuz our IDIOT neighbor's son decided to shoot BB's at the back of our house.  I'm sure he was aiming for something like my CAT and missed but they were pinging off my house and one even landed in the kitchen when Clay opened the back door.  So we ended up calling the police at midnight and they came right out to investigate.  Of course by then the neighbor's house was dark and we couldn't prove it was him so no charges were filed.  He chipped the glass on one of our windows but nothing serious.  Anyway, that's why I was so tired.

I got up early this morning and made a batch of my low fat trash mix and we're about to head out to Tom Thumb ($1.99/lb London Broil) and Home Depot.  Then it's time for laundry and cleaning cuz tomorrow's a work day.  Will check back later.
