The NIGH****CHMAN - Friday - 7/24
Good evening all. Hope everyone is having a good day. Things are moving fast in my world. Working a lot this weekend. Both jobs today. OT at full time tomorrow. Normal Sunday full time. But then it slows down for a week, as I am taking "some" time off. 1/2 day here, full day there. Right now I am scheduled to work 8 hours next week. But will probably work more just to save the time off.
Oleta's mother will probably be in the hospital for ten more days. She is on another round of antibiotics. Then they want to release her, but she has to have somewhere to go. Oleta and Brad need to get their garage finished (it is almost done). They need to get carpeting, get a ceiling fan mounted, and get the sheetrock finished on the closet they had built into the garage. The duct for the air conditioning is already up and functioning.
I really have mixed emotions about this. I mean, she needs to be by family. But that means when she passes, it will be in my son's house. I fear for the effect it will have on the grandkids.
Prayer requests are listed below.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Sounds like you have a very busy weekend ahead of you! We are going to be pretty busy tomorrow as well. There is an all day event out at their air museum tomorrow so my sister will have all three of my girls out there selling hot dogs, popcorn, taking photos of little kiddos next to the planes, etc. Then, after that is over, they have their monthly fundraiser dinner so it will be a very busy for us all tomorrow as well. Weather is supposed to be in our favor, too. A big storm is headed this way and will get here in about 4-5 hours. It's just approaching the Chicago area so won't get down here until later, but should be out of here by 2 am or so and then that front clears out and the weather should be right around the 80 degree mark most of the weekend. It is supposed to be breezy tomorrow though.
We're heading towards our last full week here. Paul leaves for PA tomorrow and will meet up with his family up in the Poconos. He'll be there with his parents, aunt, sister, all his brothers and their families, etc. Soooooo glad I'll be here. I wouldn't want ANY part of that "vacation". That would be more like a living HELL for me! His mother actually called me a few days ago just to say hi before they left today. She did let me know, however, that one of Paul's aunts (happens to be his Godmother) has been diagnosed with cancer. It is treatable with a hysterectomy so she'll be undergoing that here in the next couple weeks, but she asked me if I thought it was ok to tell him while on vacation! UUUGH....I think I may end up telling him tonight so he has an entire day to allow it to soak in and it won't be a huge shock. I don't know!?! I may just go ahead and let her tell him and just reassure him when he tells me that as long as she has the surgery, she should be ok. Just don't want him to be all bummed during his vacation. What to do, what to do....
Well, stay cool down there. Will continue to keep momma Oleta in our thoughts....

We Can Do Hard Things
I have been attendant at several family members death and I can say the best was Tom's Dad. We took him home from the Hospital to die and had a wonderful Hospice nurse that was great with the grandkids.
They were there, we were all there and the nurse gave us enough notice to rally the troops that in just a few hours, we were all able to be with him. Adam was the youngest, and was about the age of George's grandkids. It was very worth the effort.
Note, George, I have found it to be true that if you give her permission to die, she will. She needs to know that things will be taken care of. In the case of Tom's Dad, I was the one. I promised to look after Tom and his sister and make sure his wife was well cared for. Please allow your family to participate in this very important part of life.
Be Kinder than Necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
once again, agree with you on teh last note there. Seems that if you give them permission, they will go. Assuring them things will be taken care of and its ok to go kinda thing. BTDT.
Also, she doesnt HAVE to die at home either...
When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
