Stall after a week?!
Because it's me...probably! I quickly lost the 6 pounds I gained in the hospital along with 5 more....and that is all she wrote! My body has always been very stubborn and likes to hang on to it's weight.
I'm getting almost all my liquids in and I'm getting about 70 grams of protein a day. I'm still doing really soft stuff and haven't added any meat yet.
I know I need to get off the scales and just be a little more patient.
Just needed to hear some reasurance from my pals!
The bright side is I feel good, my incisions look amazing for less than 2 weeks.
My only other issue is I really don't have any feeling in my pouch. I don't feel when I am full and see to be able to drink more liquid (water and crystal light) than I expected to. Will that change? Will that get more 'defined' when I have more solid food? I measure and

Your right stay off the scale.....if you can, I know it's hard. I stalled on week 3 for 3 weeks, then lost 6 lbs over night....it's an unfortunate frustration we almost all go through, we want the weight off NOW......I PROMISE you it'll happen.
As for not feeling the pouch, that's normal out of surgery. The nerve endings haven't woken up yet. After it does and you start eating denser food you will feel restriction. In the mean time, you are doing the right thing by measuring your food intake per doctors directions.
Great job on the liquid intake, some people do very well other not so well. If I remember correctly I was about 8 weeks out before I could get in 64 oz of water a day. I stayed up some late nights somtimes to get in water so I wouldn't dehydrate.
Stay calm and follow your plan, it'll be ok.

Weigh once a month! Pick a day (I picked the 10th of every month). Weigh and take your measurements. Go pick that scale up and put it on the top shelf of your closet so it is out of sight and out of mind (hopefully!).
It is going to take a little bit for your body to go "oh this is what I am suppose to do." I didn't loose much the first two to three weeks. But once your body realizes you are serious, it will get on board and start dropping.
I am six months out and now on a 4 week stall...sigh! They are going to come and go. Just hang on, do what you are doing (because you are doing it all RIGHT, and way better than me in the first two weeks!) and hold your chin high! It will come.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I know I'm still healing and weigh also redistributes I hear as you loose, so that adds to some of the stalls. I have always been a slow loser and honestly expect to be post surgery as well.
I know I am very lucky to have had an easy time with both my surgery and my recovery.

Julie I had the same thing! I got home from the hospital and then promptly gained 2 lbs. I was doing everything my doc said and my weight did not budge. I knew stalls would come but it's hard to get one right from the start!!!! Anyway, 12 days later my weight has been dropping now. Once I got to mushies that seemed to help. You're doing great and it's going to happen. Believe me I know how hard it is to see everyone losing and feel frustrated. But, your body is sorting things out and getting ready for a big lose.
