Restart

Thanks Danni!!!

I always appreciate your kindness.

By biggest problem is I don't like to cook and I want easy grab and go stuff.

Speaking of...ha ha ha...I made chicken in a crockpot with cream of mushroom and cream of chicken. After the chicken cooked, I pulled it all off the bone. I saved the soupy stuff.
Can I make soup out of it? I know I can put it with egg noodles. But if I can avoid noodles and rice I would prefer. Any advice on that dinner, it would be appreciated.  :-)

Thanks again Danni.
Hugs!!  And I miss you!

I don't think it matters if you pick a plan or make your own, the key is that you need to plan and your plan needs to be different than what you've been doing.  Make sure you're journaling.  Tri fitday.com.  it is easy and free.  Make sure you're moving at least 30 minutes every single day...and more if you want to lose more, faster.  Do not exceed 90 minutes or the rules change.  Lift weights.  Muscle burns more calories than anything else in your body.  Want to burn more, then you need more muscle.  Don't have to bulk up, start with 5# weights on your arms, some squats and core work.  Eat a varied diet...high protein, but lots of fruit and veggies.  Make sure you're getting calcium and all your vitamins.

You can do this.  You've done amazingly well so far.  I've no doubt you can do even more.  Keep in touch.

I'm moving in with you, hope you don't mind, lol.  Tawyna you are so diligent on exercise and good choices, I wish I had your dedication and desire.

I've been flying by the seat of my pants again, scale is showing the unplanning I've been doing.

Diligent?  Nah!  I think Jess picked a good word, "restart."  Every single day is a new chance.  A new opportunity to make different choices, maybe just a teeny bit better than the day before.  I'm not perfect - far, far from it. I take days off.  I sneak a serving of baked cheetos or a glass of wine.  They aren't on my "plan."  But, once it's done it's done.  You just have to let it go and move forward.  Think of your meal plan as a check book.  If you overdraft one day, try to make a deposit the next day to avoid fees at the scale later.  Silly analogy I know, but it works in my mind.  lol

Thank you....so fruits and veggies are good?  I've always understood protein first and then super small portions of veggies (rarely fruit) because of wasted space.

I do Kung Fu 2x a week. I teach it from 6-7 and work out hard from 7-8.
I found a friend who is willing to running with me a few times a week...

I'm really hoping to turn over a new leaf and hit it hard starting Monday.
My favorite food right now (and always has been) is ham and swiss rolled together. Fills me up and tastes yummy. If I could afford it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner I would  :-)

Cottage cheese and peaches is yummy too.

Things are easier now that I have a steady paycheck, now I just need to know what to buy  :-)

Thanks again!!!
Hugs,
Jessica

Jessica, I haven't done the plateau busters diet, but I saved it on my profile in case I needed it:

I agree with Tawnya that you need to put together a plan that works for you and take the ideas from the different "jump start" plans.

I think the most important thing is to track every bite that goes into your mouth.  I like Daily Plate but there is fitday.com or a small notepad in your purse.  It is so easy to pop things into your mouth without thinking and it adds up.  Plus, if you have to look at in in black & white it might deter you from eating it LOL.  It gives you a good idea of your calories and protein-to-carb ratio.

And adding exercise always helps - burns more calories and you can't be doing bored, mindless eaiting when you are on a treadmill.

Good luck!

Thank you Sarah. I appreciate you posting that link.
I will certainly use it.

I do need to track my food...I also need to quit eating the junk food.
I sit at  a desk...my coworkers bring in donuts (3 times in one week) and bagels and junk. Other's have oodles of candy sitting on their desk.
Now I even have a coworker that goes with me to lunch everyday...ever feel obligated to eat??

Life is tuff sometimes...

Thanks again Sarah!!!

have oodles of candy sitting on their desk.

Ughhh I'm there too, I have asked that they hide the candy but no one will and my crazy mind keeps saying it's a mini it won't hurt.

Jess I'm so with you on needing to restart.  Carbs are evil.

Worst off, I never even understood the difference between good carbs and bad carbs...

I need a book of wls friendly food only. If it's not in the book then don't eat it.  Ha ha...
Simpler said then done.  :-)

Hugs and thanks!

Hi Jessica....nice to see you on here......

I'm with you.....I'll join in with your restart - because TODAY  - SATURDAY 7-18-09 - I'VE RESTART TO GET BACK ON TRACK !

I've been off for so many months and the scale shows it and when I put on my Jeans yesterday - it showed..........whew !!   A little tighter, but they felt good - held up the the belly but that is NOT always a good thing...............

I was reviewing the 5 day pouch test last night and I know that is what I need to do - but I don't know that is the path that I want to take......it is a little drastic...and I don't want to go further intory feeling deprived which is NOT an issue................I just need to get off of the okay - I'll try this for today and get back tomorrow..............thinking.................I have NOT lost over 100 lbs to start gaining it back and failing this new way of life...................so   it is all about me again !!

#1)  journaling is on the plan
#2) - back to planning............sticking with it.................
#3) at least 30 min of excercise -  that is where this bike comes in that I bought which I used faithfully for 3 weeks..........for the past 2 weeks - it has sat there because knees were hurting and I wasn't feeling well....etc, etc.............so I stayed in the house - in bed for 2 days...........probably a little depressed and not sure where to start and where to go..........so....
I hit and read the 3-4 OH mags that I've rec'd over the past couple of OH conf and tried to get a renewed sense of where I needed to be going...........................

GOOD LUCK AND I'M HERE FOR YOU TOO !!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
