Evening all,
Got the broken fence post dug out, new post planted, ran out of steam in the heat, will continue the repairs in the morning. Nothing new here.
Praises for Lynette on getting a job! Prayers continue for everyone else looking for work. Special healing prayers tonight for Elizabeth Grace. Prayers of comfort for her family, and gratitude prayers for those special care givers and doctors at St. Judes. Haven't heard from my friend Lori this evening, last time I spoke with her, she had made it to Kansas City, her dad was hanging in there, but was having very labored breathing, they had stopped all medications, and said they could not do anything else for his kidney failure. Continued prayers for his peaceful passing, sure wish Ms Gina could be there with him. Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests, special prayers to all hurting tonight for whatever reason.

AVIS...awww...what a nice thing to say..I'd sure go to Kansas City, if I could..I pray for God's will for Lori's dad ,and peace and strength for Lori. As her friend, she will probably just need you to let her TALK. She will have so many emotions, memories, etc. My heart goes out to her. She is lucky to have you as her friend.

Evenin' George....
Had an early start to the day. Had to get the two older girls to tennis. They lost again today, but did not get skunked either. Just good experience with heavy duty FOCUSED kids. V already said, "I know what I need to do in order to improve my backhand....as soon as we're back home, I'm hitting the gym"! Good for her. Heather, forget it, she just rolls with the flow so I'm convinced that she is ok with it being a hobby. She was throwing out all these excuses on why she didn't win and I finally just had to tell her to stop. Such a huge difference in the girls....V knows EXACTLY what her shortcomings are and knows what she has to do if she wants to improve herself without blaming anyone else. Heather though, forget it, nothing is EVER her fault. I swear, that girl is going to make me lose EVERY bit of brown I have in my hair to a lovely shade of GRAY! UUUUUGH!!!
Supposed to have some severe weather up here during the day so I'm hoping that stuff holds off until we get back home. The older girls have tennis again so we'll be in town from like noon until probably close to 5 pm. Of course that "heating of the day" tends to be when those wicked storms develop. I swear, EVERY year that we are up here, we always have at least one tornado warning that sends us down in the basement. Around here, the girls know when it's definitely one to worry about when the tornado sirens go off! You'd think in Texas we'd have them but nope, they don't!

That's EXACTLY what I have been trying to get through to Heather - "hobby" tennis at school is fine if that's what she wants, but it's not fair for her to be nasty towards her sister if she bypasses her and ends up on Varsity. Right now Heather thinks the slot would go to her strictly because she's been playing longer than V. Well, that's just simply not the case. As I have told her a million times, you get on that spot by EARNING it. I also reminded her that the kids she was playing the past two days would be the caliber of kids she would always come across if she got on Varsity anyway.
As far as the sirens go, in Katy they don't have anything. I don't think they have them in the city limits of Houston, either. Now basements, nope, we don't have one of those in Texas either. They definitely come in handy up here during the spring and summer when tornadoes tend to pop up!
Ok, enough for me, it's 3 am and I guess I need to get to bed!

Just wanted to post that my friend Lori's father passed away this afternoon. My heart is heavy tonight for her and her family. Ms Gina I really apprediated your post, I truely wished you could have been there to see him go home. I don't think the family had a lot of support, all Lori will tell me is thtat it was awefull. Wish I could have been there with them, I was an EMT many, many moons ago, I knew it was coming from what she described. I'm just glad she was with him, I didn't have that opportunity when my dad passed 15 years ago. There is a lot of old hurt coming out tonight.
