Mad Dash To Clean

My parents will be here in under 24 hours.... and my house is nowhere near "mom visiting clean".... However, I'm very grateful both parents are coming out to take care of me after the surgery. This will be the first time they see my house since we had it built 2 years ago.. so it being perfect is important.

Anyone else on the board last minute cleaners?

I'm telling ya.. I failed wife boot camp...
I can be a business woman... I can make money... I can bust butt in the gym... but I absolutely suck at cleaning...

Anyone want to send me some cleaning fairies?

Good luck with that.  I've been trying to clean up the house and get everything in order before my surgery.  Yeah, NOT going so well.   It's summer, the kids are having friends over, swimming  and making new messes by the minute.   I'm barely keeping up with the laundry.   I have no motivation.  A clean house is sooo overrated!

But I'm the baby of the family.. and I built/bought the house when I was 23.. it's a sense of pride for them.. lol and I don't want them to see the left over pine needles from the christmas tree that got swept under the couch... or dust on the baseboards.... or dirt the dogs drug in...

that's just never been cleaned up.. lol

so rush rush rush

I love that motto!  I'll have to use that one on my husband.   Darn, I guess I'll go finish the .     At least I can say I accomplished ONE thing today.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels the need to have a "before mom comes visit" cleaning spree.  My DH laughs all the time that I worry what mom will think, lol.....the problem is she is the Queen of Clean, you can eat off her floors; unfortunately I didn't get that gene from her.

I actually clean less now than I did before WLS.......with my boys getting older I just can't clean up so I've given up.  If the toilets are clean, no dirty dishes in the sink and laundry is washed (not necessary put up) then I'm a happy camper.

If you find the cleaning fairy send her my way please.

Dana - I tend to keep up with things like laundry (washing anyhow - putting away is another thing all together) and dishes - other things like vacuming, scubbing tubs etc it takes me the same amount of time if I did it yesterday or last week so I get to it when I get to it

funny  - my house is sooooo much cleaner when Tim is not here - not that he makes tons of messes but b/c given a choice between time with him and cleaning I always pick time with Tim

How did such a young woman get so wise?

i do the 'mom visit clean' as well and i dont have a DH or kids.. its just me lol.  I need the cleaning fairies here when yall get done with them. At least this time i have the excuse that i have been sick forever and havent been able to clean ?? lol
