Forest Park Medical Center- Sooo Angry!

I just have a quick vent and want to see if anyone here had this kind of expierence with Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas.

I just received a letter in the mail from my insurance company with a denial of payment for my Anesthesia.

I paid CA****he Surgeon received $5,000. The hospital $7,200. $1,000 of that went to the anesthesia fee.

So, why are they trying to collect again?!! Sneaky! I hope they have a good explanation come Monday when the business part of the hospital opens.

They collected my $200 deductable the day of my surgery (6/5) which I paid with my bank card and they still haven't debited it from my account...

On a whole, I wasn't terribly impressed by them.

Yeah I could go on for days about how unhappy I was with the staff once I got to my room. Everything up until that point was great.

But this just makes it that much worse. Maybe I am jumping to conclusions and there is a logical explination, but it still blows.

Same here, really bad when I got back to my room, my pain wasn't controled a bit and my blood pressure was skyrocketing because of it.

Hi....if I were you I would call the hospital and talk to the billing department.   I am sure that it is just a computer error.    Hospitals are notorious for doing these type of things.   Remember it is a "NEW" hospital.    I am sure that they have some "bugs so to speak" still to be worked out.   I am sure that everything will be fine once you speak to them.   Good luck to you !!!

I had myself-pay surgery the first week they opened and still have several "pending" billing issues. Received 3 extra bills -balance billing-for x-rays and lab pathology. Got no where with billing,I mean weeks to return a call-requested an itemized bill which by law I should already have received-2 months later I received a pathetic one page-no hospital letter heading -about 10 lines of absurd costs that maid no sense and so far the Flex plan has not reimbursed us due to this unprossesional mess.

My care was fine except for the first night nurse-she purposely waited to give pain meds and anti-nausea meds 40 minutes past time only came when I threatened to get up and call my husband and have him call Dr Kim. She didn't care if I started throwung up even though I just had most of my stomach removed. Few patients, lots of staff-no excuse.

That is absolutely absurd. If you're self pay, you pay a set amount. How can they go back and charge you more?

The responses I get are-1.no return calls, 2. Dr Kim office says call Billing see #1. The pathologist says they were not part of the fixed payment-TX allows balance billing-I did get them to bill my insurance who actually pd some and I haven't received another bill from them this month YET, X-rays pretty much the same steps and answers also billed my insurance and they pd a little- I'm afraid to inquire too closely now they may reject it and  I end up responsible for this extra $800. The "itemized" statement did not mention either one but then again it did not list the things I was told it would cover like anesthesiologist ( no seprate bill from them at this time), or the lab and pathology. I need to make them send me another real one- I don't think the IRS will accept that paper as real either-let me know if you get a real professional itemized bill and I will start bugging them again-I hate daughters wedding on my plate and gave up on it all for the past 6 weeks.

Ugh this really makes me mad. I cannot believe you have done through this.

I got an invoice the day of but all it says is the procedure, the hospital amount due, my check number and then the same thing on a seperate sheet from the anesthesiolgist stating the same thing.

Did you sign anything stating that they could charge you for all of this other stuff?

The only thing I signed stated that if something happend to me and I needed additional medical attention on top of what I was receiving, I would be responsible for it.

I bet the snuck it in there somehow.

I really hope you get it worked out.

How long after did you get your first bill? I wonder if they are going to try to sneak anything to me like that.
