I think that when we can learn to celebrate our differences that we will be better for it. It is easy to say that someone sucks but it seems it is not easy to only say what we enjoyed and who we liked and why. When we find fault with someone or make a statement against someone we are making ourselves right and everyone who thinks differently ....wrong. I don't think anyone really means to do that but they can say they like something without going to the dark side and saying what they don't like.
I saw Adam interviewed this morning and he was so kind and gracious. He said he was happy to be in the top two and that is was all wonderful. When the commentator asked him if he thought it hurt his chances because the judges said so much about him he said that he thought that they were only supporting him and that perhaps he needed some support because he was different and the judges were doing a kind thing. I think the contestants were the best this year because they all seem to be authentic and cared for each other. I pray that the limelight will not destroy them because this life they have chosen is so hard. I am particularly worried about Kris and his wife. Adam has been this life and he'll be OK. He actually has more freedom because he came in second. I picked Adam as the winner the first time I saw him and even though he didn't win the competition, he won in my heart. Each person has something about them that is different and until we understand that we will all are God's precious children (each and every one of us) we will continue to be the source of prejudice.
Again...we are treated differently because we were/are obese. The people that have never been obese have never walked in our shoes. I think if we could put ourselves in someone else's shoes and not judge the way someone looks or acts, we will be better people all around. Sorry to get so deep on the American Idol thread but I'm particularly passionate about us understanding each other and learning to celebrate the differences because it would be so boring if we were all the same.
many blessings, Y
