Found this on the Main Forum - it's a petition to make the Vitamin D shot available in the U.S.

I never knew it wasn't an option!

hmmm might need to check into this for Summer. With her bone disease Vitamin D is what she has a hard time absorbing.

Interesting, I'll have to research this one some more.  I see more and more WLS patients dealing with low D and taking MEGA doses of D3 dry to get it back up.  Some are doing good others are really struggling to get thier numbers up.

Dana,
Do you know if a vitamin deficency would cause
double vision or can just the large amount of
weight loss in a short time even affect
the eyes?

Vitamin A can affect the eyese.  So can the rapid weight loss for some reason, I don't remember what it was but some people experience better and some worse vision.  I am seeing my eyes change allot lately, it's not due to Vitamin A I think mine is just age.  I see biofocals in my near future, lol.

Hey Dana,
Vit A deficiency and loss of visual acuity, especially at night is a long term issue.  There are some B vit issues that can cause blurred vision, but are easily corrected with supplementation.  A trip to the optometrist or ophthalmologist will determine easily if it is age related changes or an actual deficiency.

Bifocals are the AARP crowd's friend.
I have ha cataract surgery on both eyes so have
lens implants. I just went to the eye dr. and he
asked several times if I had been in a car accident.
I told him my body had experienced a train wreck and
was still adjusting. After 10 months my last 'surgery wound'
is healed and no dressings. Now my eyes are blurrin.
I take 2 GNC multi vitamins and B12 . Just had my labs
drawn last week so we'll see.
I would think there would be enough vitA in those huge
gels.
