Drinking Fluids.... Post-OP

I can seem to get in a lot of fluids with NO problems. I can drink and drink (water, water mixed with crystal light, and protein drinks) any size amount of drink in minutes... For instances a bottle of water 16.9oz I can drink in 20 minutes if I wanted to.

Is this too much or too fast? Can that damage the pouch?

Feedback and suggestions welcomed!
Thanks.

I am certainly no expert but I think at almost 2 years out you're okay.  I can drink a lot more at one time, too.  It's normal I think.

Jeri, Thanks for replying! I am trying to figure out why I have stopped losing, and even with all my exercising, and what not. I appreciate all your feedback!! Thanks!!

Jessica,
I'm 6 years out, and My surgeon made me do this when I was about 1 month out...I drink my bottled waters fast!!!   My pouch is not damage, just had an upper GI and it is still small..
I would think as long as there is no pain then it should not hurt you~
However, when I drink my water fast, these are usually my days of not getting in all my water, because I stay full for so long...

I am quite the opposite, Mel. If I do not drink faster throughout the day then I find myself not getting all my fluids in. I am just trying to figure out why I am not losing anymore. Thanks for your feedback, I really APPRECIATE it so much!

i think at this far out youre ok. Im a tish over 3 years and if i wanted to, i could drink it in that amount of time. Now, when i was first post op and tried that, it would have come shooting back out lol.  But now, ya i could.
Now, you mentioned youre trying to figure out why you arent losing any more. GIve us more data please.  How much protein, carbs etc. Are you exercising? I know you have posted this over the last few days but i did sleep a few hours since then :)
Do you use protein shakes? Anything you feel like sharing will be helpful.

Oh boy this will be long... This has been months of stalls! I have not actually lost any weight on the scale in about 6-7 months, however, I have lost inches.

I do exercise. I started exercising in October with a trainer about 2-3x a week. I did miss several workouts because I was not sure if that was for me. However, I have kept my trainer and we are now working out 3-4x per week, plus I do cardio on my own 5 days per week (2 days rest), but on my rest days I do walk. My trainer considers me an "athelete" (how strange is that!!) therefore, he states that walking is nothing for me. Not considered exercise. I have not worked out for the past 10 days though until today. The past 10 days, I just have felt so sluggish, no energy and no motivation. I would wake up at 3:30 or 4 to make sure that I got my morning workout in with my trainer, but this past 10 days... Nope, I would make excuses not to go.  That could be because the past 3 weeks I have started with the stated nutritionist that I have posted about last night. Who wanted me to UP my carbs to 50% of my caloric intake and have protein no more than 100 grams per day, and actually increase my fat. She had me eat sandwhiches, chips, a hamburger, etc... Wanted me to be "normal". She states I need to have a normal relationship with food. Also, she was telling me that I was becoming OVERLY obsessive with exercising and told me that she would be cutting that back to no more than 2-3x per week.  This is strange, because I use to be the GIRL who would do everything to get out of gym class, always the overweight girl and now... I love the gym, the way I feel and ITS TOO MUCH?!?

I had just started to change my caloric intake 2 weeks before I started seeing this nutritionist and I had upped my protein and did not want ANY carbs, except those through fruit. But, I was told to add at least some oatmeal to my diet. I was apparently undereating because I was only getting 1000 calories in. So, I was trying to get to at least 1300-1500 per day with all my working out. And, my sample meal plan would look like this:

Pre-morning work out 5:00am- 3oz boneless Pork Chop
                                           1/2 cottage cheese 2%
                                                         OR
1 Packet Kashi Go Lean Creamy
                                              Vanilla Oatmeal
Post-am work out 8:00am 11 FL Go Lean (NSA) Protein Shake
Mid-morning Snack 10:00am  Banana or Apple
Lunch 12:00/12:30pm-  2.7 oz Tuna, 3/4oz Babybel Cheese,
1.5 oz raw broccoli and 1 oz Quaker Rice
Mid-Afternoon snack 3:00/3:30pm- Pure Protein Bar
Dinner 7:00/8:00- 3oz grilled chicken, 1.5/2 cups Romaine Lettuce, 1 tsp sour cream (light), 2 TBS pace picante sauce; 4 oz broccoli and Cheese
Evening Snack- 9/10: 8oz 1% milk with Nectar Protein
                                                 OR
1oz Turkey Pepperoni Slices & Cheese

41% Protein, 31% Carbs and 28% Fat

That is what I had started to eat for the 2 weeks prior to starting see the nutritionist. She told me that was not right. Grant it, I ate the SAME thing, but I LIKED IT!! I LOVE IT. Therefore for the past 3 weeks this is a sample menu of what I would eat.

I don't know what my ratio is, because I AM NOT ALLOWED TO LOG it on fitday or keep track of the "caloric information"...

Preworkout Breakfast 5:30am- 1 slice of WHOLE wheat toast
                                           Creamy Vanilla Kashi Oatmeal
Postwork Breakfast 8:00am- Apple or Banana
Midmorning Snack 10:00/30- 23 almonds (1 oz)
Lunch 12:00/30- 2.7oz TUNA SALAD on 2 slices of whole wheat bread with a  slice of cheese, and Sunflower Chips
Snack 3:00- Pure Protein Bar ( I wouldn't give up)
Dinner 7:00pm- Either Grilled Chicken on bread with cheese, or BOCO lasagna or a hamburger or wrap or sandwhich with some sort of fruit or chips.
Snack- Apple with peanut butter, apple with cube cheese, or almonds or oatmeal or cereal or NSA ice cream

I could give ya more sample menus of what I have eaten, if needed.

After eating the way that she wants me to in order to be normal, I have just felt so sluggish and drained, and ALWAYS hungry. Feeling like a complete failure, especially with the scale increasing. Which I am not allowed to weigh myself either, which is okay as long as I am feeling good and energized... :)

She wants me to eat 1800-2200 calories per day. And, eat CARBS first thing in the morning. And carbs at every meal. Not just "whole grains" but white and not to be focused on the NSA stuff to have the regular stuff-- to be normal.

I want to LOSE weight still :)

Any feedback and suggestions I would greatly LOVE! I am willing to try anything. I feel like I am working my butt off and not seeing results or getting what I need.

My PCP, Plastic Surgeon consult doctor-- all have stated that I do not look what the scale says and in fact that I am "healthy" now and need to remember that muscle weighs more than fat.
My PCP stated that I would need to make sure that I was eating. Therefore that is why I created the time schedule for myself to make sure that I was eating and my body was not going into starvation mode.

If you need anything else let me know.

I also am starting to wonder if the reason why I am not losing anything would be because of the antidepressant medication, Pristiq that I am taking for acute anxiety/stress due to a trauma that occurred in March 08 with a juvenile I was working with.... I started taking the Pristiq in October of 2008. Maybe I will as my PCP to start tappering me off that... Um... Just a thought.

ok just got back to the pc.  Dont stop the Pristiq!!!!!. lol.  There are SEVERAL ok prolly LOTS is more accurate of folks ON THIS BOARD that take Pristiq and are still losing weight. So, nope, stay with it.  I dont take that one myself but there will be several folks to chime in on this one for ya , trust me there.
Im by no means an expert but umm not allowed to log your food?? i get that your nut doesnt want you to be OCD with it coz you can trade addictions, but FOR ME and keep in mind.. this is just ME and we all know i got way lots of **** wrong with me lol.
when i dont log dear lord im way all over the place with the carbs etc and i dont get near enough protein in.  I will think 'oh im doing good today' but i've had mayve like 30 grams of protein.. So for MY HEALTH i have to log.
also, FOR ME, i  am VERY carb sensitive. Meaning if i start the day with white carbs or almost any carbs, then im done for the day.
im gonna nudge Dana to take a peek at your food diary. She's much better than I.
Now. on to other things.. do you really feel you need to lose more weight? Are you wanting a different number on the scale? a lower size? or is it just another 10lb kinda thing?
