MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

Try and Medicaid and Medicare websites for approved physicians. I was told that the only place I could have surgery that Medicare approved was Baylor University Medical Center near downtown Dallas.  I do not know what other hospitals may have been approved by this time. Fortunately, my primary carrier at the time, United Health Care, paid 100% of my expenses because my co-pays and deductibles had all been met.  However, I did pick a physician who used that hospital and he received his Medicare approval a few months before my surgery date. This is a tricky situation.  When I called Baylor,  I was told the hospital was only approving 2 Medicare patients a year!  I do not know if that is still true today, but it was in 2006. If you are in the Dallas, Texas area, you can call 1-800-4-Baylor and ask for a Medicare or Medicaid approved physician and the operator should be able to give you that information. Good Luck! Dr. Nick Nicholson out of Plano TX. He also has an office across from Northpark mall in Dallas. He practices out of Baylor Dallas and Plano. His phone number is 214-820-8220 and he accepts medicare for sure, possibly medicaid. His website is http://www.nicholsonclinic.com This man is funny, but is blunt about the surgeries and will let you know the pros and cons and will not sway you one way or the other. He is very straightforward....

I talked to Dr. Nicholason' office they will not accept medicaid. State of Texas will not pay for it. I went to his lecture and I think everything he said was valid. But if you do not have great insurance and moola.......... You will not get surgery. There is a difference between Medicare and medicaid. Enough said. http://4my2centsworthnow.blogspot.com/

I had medicare and medicaid.  I used Dr Barker in Dallas.  I even did a commercial for him.  However, you have to check with him periodically to see if he's still taking it.  I didn't have to pay anything!  The Lord blessed me with this procedure!!  Even though I have complications I would still do this again.  I've lost over 260 lbs.  The Lord is good!!!!
