Topic: What to see in Oregon?
I'm going to be visiting Portland, Oregon in August for a family member's wedding. After the wedding, I have about 10 days to travel around the state and see what I can see. I'll be renting a car and going solo. I'd like some information about where to go and if anybody has any ideas about good but relatively inexpensive places to stay, I'd appreciate it. Hopefully my surgery will be approved when I get back so this will be my last vacation before surgery.

Hey Karen....the cruises are my thing, also. Haven't done anything over 8 days. Wow 16 days. Mind sharing??
I've got a shorty going out of Galveston in Mar, then a 9 day out of Baltimore in Sep 06. Trying to get a group of folks on a 7 day out of Miami in Dec this year.

I am an avid traveler. In fact I am going on the By-Pass Buddies Cruise and Conference in September. The cruise goes out of New Orleans down to Mo'Bay, Grand Cayman and then back to Cozumel. Anyone else here aboard?
This will be my fifth cruise - last fall I took a biggie which was for 16 days and went to seven different countries in Asia. I plan one trip a year if possible. I have also taken a cruise out of Honolulu and it went around the island and then down to Fanning Island and back.

Go to the buffets, I did in Atlantic City at about 3 months out. Now after years of the buffets losing money on me they made some back. I had no problem not over eating. I had a little of everything that was full of protein. The other thing that I like about the casino buffets is that they always have sugar free deserts.

I went to Vegas in April to renew my vows for my tenth anniversary. (pic with Elvis on my profile!) and we stayed at Bellagio. Most places I went I just ordered off the appetizer menu and all was good!!!

I just got back from Vegas and my friend is doing the LA Diet. We went to Gallaghers in New York New York, ordered 1 steak and 1 potato and asked for a separate plate. No problem at all...we didn't have to explain why at all.
Also, we had a continental breakfast at our hotel and just picked off of that. Also, we would go to the deli's and order 1 sandwich and she'd eat half and I'd take the meat and cheese off the other half.

Eleven days. whoo-hoo. Where did you go to dive in Cozumel?
DH and I cruised there this past Jan. We had a great time, spent time snorkling and watched folks swim with the dolphins.

Just got back from Cancun and Cozumel. Driving in both places was an absolute blast. Took the whole fam damily, and all had a great time.total of eleven days in old Mexico.
