Topic: Riviera Maya?!
Hi Everyone! Looks like we don't have many posters here....I am traveling to the Riviera Maya the week before Easter. I am wondering if anyone has been there lately. We are staying at the Sandos Gala Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen. I have visited TripAdvisor.com, but wondered if anyone here has been there. Have a great night. I look forward to any replies! Thanks, Lisa

Topic: Looking For Roomie for Hawaiian Cruise
. . Hi Everyone! I am looking for a roommate for the OH Hawaiian Cruise November 5-12. At the top of the main Obesity Help message board, there's a whole thread about the Hawaiian Cruise. An information packet on the cruise can be found here: danthetravelman.com/obesity-help-travel/ObesityHelp-Hawaii-Welcome-Packet-2006.pdf I found the Norwegian Cruise Lines site very helpful as well, since it gives information about the ship, the shore excursions and tons of other things! I checked out Norwegian Cruise Lines' website, and here's a website about "our" ship - the Pride of Aloha: ncl.com/fleet/pal That will give you an idea of what the ship is like, AND at what a GREAT Deal that Dan and the people at OH are giving us!!!! MUCH lower than the prices listed on the NCL site!! It also has a sample list of shore excursions for all the stops the ship makes -- wow, I can't wait, and I am so very glad I booked the $899 inside cabin, so I can spend the rest of the money on the shore excursions!!! I was thinking of getting an oceanview w/balcony room, but heck - I won't be in the room that much, and I'd rather spend that extra $700-$800 on the shore excursions!!!! This is going to be a WONDERFUL trip!! I took my Dad to Hawaii in 2002 -- he was a WWII Veteran, and lost his best friend on the Arizona. He always wanted to visit the Arizona Memorial, but my Mother would never fly over the ocean. So, after she passed in 2001, I booked a trip to take him to Hawaii for 10 days! We had a WONDERFUL time, and I still treasure those memories of my time spent there with him. He passed away May 5, 2005, just a month after my surgery. I sure wish he could see me now, down 120 pounds. I know he'd be proud. Topic: RE: Has anyone been to Huahine in FP?
YES, we went to Huahine and Moorea, I enjoyed Huahine more than Moorea. Its alot smaller than Moorea and less touristy which I really like. If you loved the Tahitian islands I would highly recommend the Cook Islands. Look into that if you want to try something different rather than returning to Tahiti. They are also in the SP, yet more beautiful than Tahiti. If I had to choose, I would return to Cook over Moorea or Hauhine. Check out Atutaki, Atui and Rarotonga.

I was wondering if anyone has been there and if they stayed at Te Tiare. I hope to go next May and was wondering if y'all enjoyed it there. I've been to Moorea twice and loved it and I thought I'd try a different island. If anyone has any suggestions about Huahine, I'm all ears! Linda (p.s. I hope to be within 20 lbs of my goal weight by then, fingers are crossed!)

Topic: RE: Travelers!!! Get Ready for 2006/2007
Hi, I just returned from 2 weeks in Croatia. Absolutlly beautiful. I found the food along the coast as well as in Zagreb to be very appropriate for WLS travelers. Cheese, dairy products, grilled fish, lamb, beef, chicken and of course fresh vegetables and fruits. The many areas to walk in the country helped me to exercise as well as the wonderful swimming. In the interior of the country waking in the mountains hepled burn the extra calories. I came back two pounds lighter and never felt deprived. The history is wonderful there and I found the people to be extremely helptul and friendly. Prices are comparable to the US. Tourism is much wanted and needed to provide income. I felt very safe (more than in the US) Some signs of being 10 years post war is evident in the more rural areas. Susan

Going to Cancun in May. This will be my first vacation after the surgery. In fact in puts a little pressure on me to lose weight quick. I don't know if that's a good thing. I'd like to hear from anyone that's been to Cancun
