Hey Ms Maureen,
Sorry to hear about your Dad.
So, what area of Africa are you from? Any pics that you care to share?
Again, sorry about the late replies.

Hey Doreen,
Sorry I was so long replying. Life just got in the way. New job, gave away my dog, PCP wants me to try 6 months of dieting, yadda yadda yadda.
Louisianna is really nice. I enjoy Shreveport and St. Charles is cool.
Bummer on the plane deal. Trips by car allow you to find small treasures along the way. yay!!
Hope it's a great trip.

Topic: RE: Going to VEGAS in July or September
Hi Linda!
My hubby and I went to Vegas and Los Angeles last Sept. and had a great time. As far as eating, we are both gastric bypass patients so we shared a lot of meals and none of the servers acted weird about it. In fact, when we were in California restaurants they served the food on 2 plates for us and we didn't even have to ask. Sometimes if we just couldn't agree on anything we ordered separate meals and just wasted the food. After all, most skinny people don't clean their plates, right? One suggestion I would have is eating at some of the deli and counter service restaurants to save money and time. We'd get a salad and split it or while at New York, New York we got this great veggie lasagna and shared it. It was huge and of course we threw most of it away...
Anyway, have a great time and a show suggestion-- The Mac King comedy matinee show was hilarious and great fun.

Topic: Going to VEGAS in July or September
My hubby and I are planning a tripe to VEGAS for this summer. (I know HOT)!!!! WE go at least once a year sometime two!!
This time is different...I had surgery 3/21/05 and I am little nervous of going...We always ate at a the buffets and alot of fast foods...now of course (andhappily) this will change. Does anyone know of places that are fun, have good food that we both can enjoy? Not too many places will let you order one meal and then share it...and we can't order just one buffet and then have me eat a small amount from his plate....There is so much to do there and eating is just a small part...BUT it is a part of it.
Breakfast is not to much of a problem...but dinner ....I wonder if the businesses there will take the card asking to eat from the childrens menu or half portions. I won't have anywhere to keep the leftovers.....
Oh ...I guess I can just not worry to much and have a good time!!!!
But any help is appreciated!!!

Hey Patty,
I noticed the same thing on here as you. I was in NJ 2 weeks ago. Mom and I hit atlantic city for 2 days and had a blast. Where in NJ are you going? I have family there still. July I am planning on a 2 week trip to Louisiana to visit friends. Will be a long drive but I can't wait! I love traveling, by car tho, as planes make me ill. If I don't hear from you.. Hope you have a safe and fun trip!

Topic: Where Are the Travelers
This community gets very little attention. A lot of profiles have travel as an interest. So, where are the travelers?
I'm planning a small trip to New Jersey this weekend. Anyone else going anywhere??

Topic: Too soon for Can Cun?
I just put my deposit down on a trip to Cancun for the 24th of May. I am looking to have my surgery sometime in April. Is that going to be too soon? Any thoughts, advice, etc...
Thanks!

Topic: RE: Oktoberfest
I went to Oktoberfest last year and it was a lot of fun! I was pre-op when I went, and I'm glad of that because I was able to drink beer and eat lots of fattening foods I would never be able to eat now!
If you are post-op, I would wait to go until you are far enough out that you can eat almost anything (jus****ch your portions!) and have a half a beer if you want to. The German people are very warm and welcoming and they sure know how to party! You won't be able to keep up with them so don't even try!
Enjoy!!
