Topic: RE: Support Groups
Hi Gracee,
According to Donna at New Life the North Knoxville (Ftn City) group still meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 at Fountain City Methodist Church. The reason only the Parkwest groups are listed on the website is because that is where they want the pre ops to attend. Hope that helps and look forward to seeing you there after your surgery.

I don't think I saw Dr. Boyce's name on the DSFacts surgeon list. Did I miss it?

I am attending a seminar at Centennial next month. Hopefully, I will have a chance to ask him to see what he says about my puny BMI of 41, sometimes 42. It changes with just a few pounds loss or gain.

My BMI was 47 and his comment to me was that he normally won't do the DS for those under 45 but he would be willing to do one for me because I was a little over that. Yep he thought the RNY was a better choice. I'm not sure why but I think it's because the DS has been known to be done for very overweight patients but that's just some of what I have read.
Did he agree to do the DS?

Don't know about Houston since he was out of network for me.
Dr. Boyce was mine. My BMI was 35.2 going in and he was willing to do a DS. He just wants to know your reasons. I needed NSAIDS after surgery. I also ALREADY had Reactive Hypoglycemia as part of my diabetes. Having the RNY would make the RH worse.
I was down to ONE in network surgeon in my entire state willing to do a DS on a lightweight and IN network for me and that was Boyce.
