I was with my wife southernlady at her follow up with Dr. Boyce yesterday. She had meant to ask Dr. Boyce about the support groups but didn't remember to while he was in the room.
I asked Robin, one of the Bariatric Registered Nurse Coordinators about this. She told us that they were consolidating the support groups and they were sending preops only to the support groups at Parkwest.
My wife asked Kristal, one of the Dieticians about this. Her response was that the Fountain City support WAS still meeting and that Sandra Hatcher was "one of the worst about posting updates".
So, as you can see, we were unable to clear this situation.

The Dr. Williams Kimber is referring to is Dr. Brandon Williams at Vanderbilt, not Dr. Keary Williams at New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery. I was a patient of Dr. Keary Williams for the initial surgery consult.
Dr. Boyce is a wonderful surgeon. He did an excellent job on my wife's DS. My wife's only complication since her surgery is she has to undergo gallbladder surgery very soon.
I also have issues with the fact they treat ALL WLS patients in my wife's case as though they have had the RNY.

Wow...this is so crazy!...i had to go to ER today because of intense terrible hell binding pain in my stomach. I am 3 weeks today since I had RNY..SO here I am laying in bed feeling some better although ER DR. was nice and did the best to his abilities in a small rual area. MY DR WILLIAMS HAS JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ME!!!!..He personally called to check on me!...So his aftercare is wonderful in my opinion...He ordered me the medications I need to get by until I see him on Wednesday,...God Bless his heart!....Wouldn't hav any other DR in the world!....

Hello and good morning everyone....I would like to know what books you have read to help you thru WLS. What websites helped you the most in your research? Any one have books here in Knoxville they aren't using anymore? I would love to have them. .

Had a great find at Kroger! EAS myoplex shake singles for 1.49 on clearance! So I grabbed the 3 they had....Hoped back on the bus and went across town to the other Kroger...they had EAS MYO 4 packs on clearance of 6.49..Score. And the best thing is they don't expire till aprill 2012.

I spoke to Donna on Thurs 7/7/11 and questioned her specifically about the North Knox and Oak Ridge groups and their omission from the website. According to both her and Melissa they are currently meeting.
I had noticed about a month ago they weren't on the website and called the office in June and was told " they hadn't met in months", which I knew was not true. I attended NKnox in March, there was no mtg April due to Easter,and I was OOT May.I didn't attend any mtgs in June b/c of the conversation with the office.
My daughter went to the office 7/7 to pick up her labs reports and asked for a meeting list. She came back to the car with the same list they have always given out and told me Melissa told her NKnox and OR still meet. I called the office (immediately from the car) more than a little frustrated and spoke with Donna who assured me these groups still meet and had no idea who would tell me otherwise. She said the office wants pre ops to attend the Parkwest meetings and that is why the others have been removed from the site.
THIS IS CERTAINLY A MYSTERY.
Is anyone else game to call the office and see what story they get?
