Topic: Getting Married!
I don't know how many of you are still on the board who were here six years ago.  But, I am getting married.  I am so excited.  WLS really changed a lot in my life.  I didn't date and had no prospects.  I never thought i would get married.  But after wls, I felt so much better about myself, and I decided it was time to meet someone.  I found my fiance', Tim...  and we have been together ever since.

I just wanted to share my wonderful news!

Yes I do experience hypoglycemic symptoms also.  And, its often a result of NOT eating timely.  Instead of eating 3 times a day, I have found that eating 6 small meals a day is better for my body.

I like to think of it like this.  Many people can fill up their stomachs at a meal and have enough fuel to run til the next meal (sort of like filling up a gas tank in the car).  Well my gas tank is smaller...  so I can't make as long of trips.  I have to stop more frequently to fuel up.

You may find that spacing out your calories and meals each day will help.  I know of many post wls people who have this problem.

And, what Janie was talking about...  you can experience hyperglycemic issues if you eat too much sugar.  Suddenly, the insulin is dumped out into your system, the blood sugar drops and you can really be in trouble...

Low blood sguar is dangerous.  You have to take care of yourself...

Keep in mind, the farther out from surgery we get, we can't just survive on protein shakes any more.  I would say go back to basics:  protein first, make sure to drink all your liquids each day as many times we are actually thirsty, not hungry.  Cut out the "extras" such as dressings, sauces, bread, etc.

I will be honest, there are times I must pull the reins back and get my head back in the game. From what I have seen in my other long term post op friends, same has gone for them too.  Good seeing you again on the board.  I've not been here for awhile, was just stopping by to see what was going on.

Topic: 4 years after Bypass Surgery
I'm all most 4 years out from my Gastric Bypass surgery.  I was doing great until about 6 months ago.  I have gained about 40 lbs.  I know my sac has enlarged.  Is it possible to shrink it again?  I have got to get back doing what I know is right.  I don't ever want to look like I did before my surgery.
