That is awesome! My husband is already in better shape than I am. So, I am just looking forward to being just as active as he is. We will take a kickboxing class, and I have always wanted to try Zumba and spinning. Congrats on your weight loss success!

My husband and I both had Dr. Dyer for RNY surgery. Everything went great. You have got to follow the plan. They have several people on staff that will work with you on what to eat and not eat. Also, the support groups are great. You get to meet others going through the same step. Lots of good information. Dr. Charles teach support group on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00.
Topic: Needing Help In TN
I live and work and Northeast TN as a Registered Nurse. My current position offers BCBS of FL and weight loss surgery is excluded from my plan. I feel like I really need this surgery and need to do what it takes to have it done. I have been looking locally for a new job. Does anyone know of any employers in NE TN that offer insurance which covers WLS? Is there any individual plans you can purchase? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I would be able to better do my job if I could have the surgery and lose weight. I am 25 years old and have several medical issues due to being obese.
Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
I am very uncomfortable with posting at all about this situation, but I found myself very unhappy with Dr. Dyer on my last visit. My surgery was 8.31.11 and has been uneventful in the recovery. My weight loss has been slowed by a failure of a spinal fusion and some neurpathic pain as resultant. I have been more than a little frustrated with the weight loss being so slow and found myself blasted when I went into Dr Dyer's office last time. I don't want to go back there at all, but I am at a loss as to how to become established somewhere else as the surgery was done at Centennial. I hope that others going there have a more positive relationship, because I am really frightened as to what I would do if I have problems? Does another MD in TN accept Medicare? Thanks for your responses to this very pressing question.

All I got was an email saying "We don't take your insurance, sorry." They didn't bother telling me that they take Americhoice. The lady that did the insurance had just quit when I went to my seminar and she was in her last two weeks so maybe she wasn't feeling very sharing with information. Good luck!

I have VSG with Dr. Dyer 2 years ago yesterday. He is wonderful! He is definitely a no nonsense doc! I wouldn't change a thing and would choose him as my surgeon in a heartbeat. Good Luck to you!
