Topic: RE: Protein powder... 60g at once to much?
I have not tried it. My issue is that I would use 10 tbsp per 16 oz cup (I was only having one 16 oz cup a day on my way to work) So multiply that out and it is to much!
Thanks for the advice though.

LOL,if you are just wanting more creamy coffee, have you tried evaporated milk, soy milk or almond milk?
Evaporateed milk has, for 2 tbsp:
3.5 carb,3.5 net carbs 2.3 gns protein,and0.6 g of fat.
Good luck,
Holly

They used egg protein as the protein of choice in this study.
They measure the amount on the breath and in the intestine and that can tell them how much is obsorbed and how much just "passes through".
Again, if you eat more than the 25-30g it does not matter. Just that the body will not "take advantage" of it. So it can be seen as a waste especially in the case of expensive protein suppliments.
Michael.

Thanks for the link and I stand corrected...I think. this study is between the digestability of cooked and uncooked (egg) protein. How does that apply in the question of the absorbability of protein in general?
Topic: 9 month post surgery visit
I had my surgery on July 13, 2009. I had my 9-month post-op visit with Dr. Houston yesterday:
Starting Weight: 318
Weight in office yesterday - 162
That's 156 pounds gone in 9 months!
That's 81% of my excess body weight and their handbook says normal loss for a sleeve at 1 year is 75-80% - I'm doing great! Dr. H was thrilled! I met with the nutritionist and I'm going to start toward my maintenance phase!
Thanks for the support y'all!
Angela

Well... tell ya what. Try the RTD's, and a few other concoctions... and let us know what works.... that way, when someone else asks... we can pull it out of our "box of tips"....

I would, but I enjoy the taste to much. It's one of the very few things that actually taste the same after surgery for me. It's funny how that happens.
Thanks,
