I had Dr. Boyce at New Life so I can't give you any personal experiences with Dr. Ray -- but I love Dr. B and know he has done quite a few sleeves! Give them a call at 694-9676

Had a consultation with Dr Ray last week, he says that he has only performed @12-15 VGS and it's about the same for Dr Colquitt.  Would like to hear from anyone who has had Dr Ray as thier surgeon.

The hospital there very likely has a self pay rate. Is the UGI part of routine screening or do you have symptoms he is trying to diagnose? If this is part of their routine screening, they likely already have a self pay rate for the testing with the hospital. I would ask the surgeon's office about the rate.

my brother in law (rny at Vandy) 3 year post op. was diagnosed with  cancer. (lymph nodes) he has had 2 rounds of chemo so far. it was his once a year post op blood work that alerted the doctors to his cancer.  just asking for a few prayers. thanks

My bariatric surgeon wants an UGI series before he will schedule a date for surgery.  He wanted my internist to request it for me to possibley get insurance coverage.  I am paying cash for the surgery because my insurance will not cover it.  But, my internist won't proceed without a diagnosis to submit with the test request.  So, I will probably need to pay for the UGI myself.  Does anyone know if I can negotiate a reasonable fee?  If so, who would be a good service provider in Chattanooga?  How would I go about it?  Any other ideas?
