I was off for 2.5 weeks and wanted to take an additonal week off and he would not extend it.     I am not sure what he would say if you asked on the front end.   I would ask him, all he can do is say no.

Topic: Introduction to this group
Hi everyone!

I have been preparing myself for this journey for about 2 years and it is now getting toward reality time.  I am 59-1/2 years old, married, 3 grown children and work full time.  I am also a grandmother.

My surgery, which has recently changed from RNY to VSG due to finally getting approval from insurance, will be in August or September.   I live near Nashville in the northern/eastern part.

Could anyone recommend a support group that meets on Saturdays or a week night north of Nashville?  I do have that requirement prior to surgery.  I have heard there is a group that meets at Hendersonville Hospital but I don't know if that information is current.

Any tips, hints, advice, or just hellos would be most welcome.

Have a wonderful blessed day and weekend.

Can any former patients of doctor Dr Dyer tell me his policy on time off work?  I have over nine weeks of sick time banked but I can't use it without a Dr's statement.  I know they typically say three weeks for RNY, but if I wanted time to get use to the new life style would he write it for say five weeks?  Thanks!

There is still the fee. Some insurance companies pay part of it. I have UHC and they paid $1500. Like the above poster said, it is for a year of post-op visits and the 24 hour nurse line.

So good to see you here, Bob. You are looking great, as always. I'm sorry so many stressful things are going on in your life. That is a heavy load to carry. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Don't be a stranger and check in when you can.

Blessings,
Karen
