Topic: RE: Centennial Seminar Tomorrow
Just wanted to take the time to thank Pam and the staff at Centennial for such an informative morning. My mom enjoyed it and the info was just enough and not too much on just one surgery. It was great to hear from Dr. Houston and to learn more about DS because most the seminars I have attended really focused most on RNY. Just a side note Pam, I got home and my insurance cards were in the mail! It has to be a sign. 2 weeks though till my start date for my insurance but at least I have my plan info and numbers to get more specifics. Going to email Sherry next. Yay! I am going to plan on joining the Smyrna SG because it is a Saturday and I am off Saturdays and also Smyrna is an easy drive for me from where I am. So excited! Looks like maybe Sept. or end of Aug.?

Thanks for your reply Cheryl and also Pam.

I have done my 6 months with the PCP but lacking the 30 days on CPAP and the support group documentation.  I am planning to have the VSG.... thought for a long time I was doing RNY but my last visit with the dietician and the insurance specialist I was informed that my insurance will now cover the sleeve... YAY!!!!!   I really like Dr. Williams and all the support staff.

Found a trick on one of these boards yesterday about adding ranch dressing or something similar to Greek yogurt (I don't like the sweetened yogurts) ... I tried it and liked it a lot.  So every day brings new surprises and gets me a little closer to goal.  I can't wait!!

Cheryl... it would be nice if we were having surgery the same day.

Aw, what a little cutie! Congrats on your two sweetie pies.

You can get the weight off. It does take more work than during the honeymoon period but it can still be done. Your tool still works and now you have 2 little activity partners.

We'll have to get together so we can meet Miss Addison.

Hello Kat70,
Congrats on your journey getting closer and closer. I too will hopefully be having my surgery in September or maybe October and I also see Dr. Williams.

I had the LapBand in 08/2007 and done great with it. after a little over a year I had lost almost 100 lbs. In 2009 I started having some complications and ended up having if removed in Oct. of last year.

I am starting my journey over again and this time I will be having the RNY. I am having to do the support group thing and the 6 months on PCP visits. I will have 4 of those 6 months behind me after this month. So I am looking to have everything completed and turned in the 3rd week of August.

I wish you luck on your journey and who knows, we might be having surgery on the same day with the same doctor..........LOL

Cheryl

Hi everyone!

It has been a long time since I've posted here...Hoping some of the "oldies" are still hanging around...I see lots of new faces!

I have just had my 2nd post-op WLS baby...Addison is 6 weeks old! Time is going by way too fast. She has been a great baby...very content ...most of the time, as opposed to Nick who cried constantly the first 3 months of his life....who now is 2 years old and into everything! At any rate,  it is time to get back down to business and get the pregnancy weight off...it is definitely harder to lose at 4 years post-op!!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I was off for 2 weeks, he said I could take off one more week if I needed it but I was afraid of losing my job so I went back to work. Wish I could have stayed off one more. That was a rough week going back. But yea , ask him up front , all he will say is yes or no.~shell

Anyone use them?  My husband is considering lap band and they are one of the few that participate with Tricare Prime South. They seem to move pretty quickly without any long delays.
