I was telling another doctor how much I am able to eat and he looked at my surgery notes and said that I had a proximal not a distal.
Topic: Update#2
Well the last time I posted I was going for what I thought was my last test before paperwork could be sent in. Well, there has been yet another one. I had the echo cardio done a few weeks ago and all though it was a good report, he still wanted more done. So yesterday I had a IV stress test done. I was really looking forward to it.....not......but it had to be done. So I got a call later yesterday afternoon, which kinda spooked me, because I figured it would be sometime next week before I heard from them. I was almost scared to answer the phone when I seen on the caller ID who it was. I was thinking ok, them calling me that soon, that there had to be something wrong. Thank goodness I was wrong, it was awesome news, everything looked great and blood flow was just flowing through like it was suppose to. What a relief it was to hear that.
So as far as I know right now I am done with testing for my insurance and doctor. I still have some pounds to loose, but I am working on that. I know that my doctor is doing all of this for my safety and I am cool with that. I know that I am and will be in good hands with my doctor and Vandy. I'm just glad that all the test are done. I feel so much better, I was really stressing over this last test.
So anyway I just wanted to share my news with everyone. I hope everyone is doing good in whatever stage you are in. Just keep on keeping on and don't give up, it will happen for you when it is suppose too. That is what I have come to realize.

I was told today that cigna was wrong and the state will cover weight loss surgery. I am still not certain, I don't think any of them know what will be covered or not.
Topic: RE: 4-Month Surgery Anniversary with pictures!
That is amazing. I enjoyed reading your post because it helps keep my mind focused on what I am fixing to go through. My surgery date is scheduled for November 2nd. Keep us up to date on your progress. Keep up the amazing work.

How did you find out he did a proximal instead of distal?

Topic: State of TN employees
I am a current state employee. I had the lap band procedure on 8-17-10. I have just found out tonight that the state insurance plan will not cover weight loss surgery of any type next year. The insurance company I was speaking with is also unsure if lap band fills will be covered next year or anything else associated with weight loss surgery. This also applies to school employees and others besides just state workers. Because the insurance companies just administer the plan, they have to find out from the state what will be covered. The insurance company is supposed to call me back tomorrow and give me more information on this horible news.
I feel like they have hid this information from us, I have been trying since August to find out what will and won't be covered. Our open enrollment started on September 15, but I haven't been able to get an answer til tonight.

I had a regular RNY a little over 2 years ago - I love it, I love Dr. Boyce's group, etc. Please contact them!
Be happy.
