Topic: New Carbmaster Yogurts at Kroger!
All,  I was at Kroger's today and noticed that there are 5 new flavors or the Carbmaster yogurt.

The new flavors are as follows:

Vanilla Chai
Raspberry Yumberry (hope that is better that the raspberry that they already have with out the seeds)
Carrot Cake
Strawberry Colada and
Spiced Pear

Most were out of stock except Strawberry Colada and Vanilla Chai.  I got one Strawberry Colada.  I will let you all know if it is good once I eat it.

Looks like Kroger knows that this yogurt sells well and continues to introduce new flavors.

Yes, Baptist has wonderful support groups. You should plan on attending some while you are getting ready for surgery.

The Staple Club (for RNY, DS and VSG patients) meets the first Monday of the month at 5:30 in the Guy Bates Center. The center is located in the same building as the surgical clinic and there will be signs directing you from near the clinic.

We won't meet in December since the Christmas party will take the place of the support group meeting for that month. Would love to meet you in person come January though.

Sorry to hear that you had such a history of issues but glad to hear you made it through them all and about the experinces with Dr. MacDowell.

I am in the 2nd month of the 6 month monitored crap and ughh..   Hate waiting.  Insurance deductables have been met, have tried every diet out there, and this has been a life long issue.  Why make we wait another four months and put me in a new year to pay more deductables.  Just so ready to get the show on the road towards a healthier me.

I see you attended some support groups, I did not know that Baptist had any.  I hear a lot of great things about the support groups from centennial though.

First let me say that I am from Portland also.  Lived there pretty much my whole life til I got married. Now I live just up the road in Franklin, Ky.  Dr. McDowell did my surgery in Jan. 08.  I LOVE him!  I had a few problems afterward and he took wonderful care of me.  I had to have another surgery in Dec. 08,that was not related to my RNY, and Dr. McDowell did that one too.  I was in and out of the ER and hospital for months and he was always there for me.  I highly recommend him to everyone I know that is considering WLS.  My hubby had double hernia surgery in Aug. and he wanted Dr. McDowell but it was going to be too long of a wait to see him.  Good luck  and I hope you like him.  Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have anymore questions.  I don't get on here very much anymore so I may not see your post.

Topic: RE: Hair Loss ( 1 1/2 years out)
I have heard of the Biotin also and take it once a day, I'm pre op. My nails are growing very fast....my hair loss has slowed down (I think I have hair loss due to stress).....Try the biotin and do de-stressors like bubblebaths if you have time, walks, and last but not least, xanax or Klonopin at night to help you get a good night's sleep ! (not the best advice I know, but it is an option until the stress passes).

I've also heard shampoos with rosemary in them help too but haven't tried this myself.

Topic: RE: HELLO TN
Hi Rebecca.....hang in there sometimes it takes a while to meet new people.  We moved down to TN a year ago and with working and kids activities we haven't met that many people either but it takes time. Join a good church that may help too. People are very friendly here vs. the northeast where we're from. I live over by Knoxville and there is a support group at LeConte Medical center. I have not had surgery yet so don't have any post op issues to report, but I'm sure I will sometime !!  Welcome to the forum, there are so many great people on here you will definately find your way !
Take care and keep us posted :-)
