Kidneys and Leukemia

I am being sent to Fort Sanders to see a Dr. Newman as my kidneys mostly the right one aren't producing like they should. My Urologist at St. Mary's hospital in Knoxville did a CT scan on my kidneys. The urine shows blood but no infections or stones to cause it. I'm to limit my intake of fluids and protein, I can't even get in the amounts I'm supposed to get let alone limit them. To stay on the water pill regardless that it drops my potassium. I am beginning to think there's more to this leukemia then meets the eye. I should hear from the Nephrologist in about 2 weeks for an appointment. Exactly what does a Nephrologist do anyway? Kathy
